Amelie Mauresmo has had to withdraw from the 2004 Swisscom Challenge before playing her first match. As the tournament's number one seed, she would have received a bye in the first round.

The French player injured her adductor muscles. A week and a half ago the injury forced her to withdraw from the final of the WTA tournament in Filderstadt against Lindsay Davenport. Since then she has been recovering in Paris and has begun practicing again. She has realized though, that she is not yet ready to compete. She is extremely disappointed, because she would have had the chance to overtake Lindsay Davenport for the number 1 ranking.

Bad luck for one French player means good luck for another: Emilie Loit, the next "lucky loser" has taken Amelie's place in the main draw.

That's a bad new to the tournament  , I hope Momo''s get better. Because she needs to be well to lift the champion's of FED CUP :bounce:

Now I hope that Lena D win this TIER I:worship:
