Thanks Eggy!

Olga 3rd! Well done girl!

Well, hopefully Kristen, Jenny & Adriana can get in! Jenny & Adriana are playing like crap, so I doubt it  Kristen has it in her, hopefully she'll do well in Yarrawonga.

I wonder if Christina H will get another wildcard in Yarrawonga? Me hope so ;) Go Chris!!!!!!!!

The Masters tourns are more exciting cos they offer more points...and to someone ranked as low as some of these girls, those extra 5 points or so are vital.

plus top 4 in pts get seeded ;)

so Olga has a chance to be seeded, if she plays this week

I'm probably totally wrong but don't seedings start this week?

Don't the 8 best performed players so far get seeded in the 3rd week of these Satellites? Thats how I thought it worked

Also do they count Quality points? I wasn't sure if they did in their calculations for the masters

Also Bree Calderwood is on 0.75 get it right for Christ's Sake! J/Joking hehe :p

Congrats Lauren on qualifying. :D

Yes Ausboy, seedings start this week, but I don't think they count quality points.

Actually TBE some of your figures are wrong, you must have calculated them in a hurry hehe

Cos you've given all qualifiers 0.75 for qualifying, instead of 0.25. They get 0.75 if they lose in the 1st round as they pick up the 0.5 1st round losers get but if they progress further its only 0.25 you add to their total.

Take out the Quality points and you have!

1 - Lisa McShea 8.00* (QP - 0)
2 - Nicole Sewell 6.00 (QP - 3)
3 - Deanna Roberts 5.25* (QP - 1)
4 - Casey Dellacqua 3.75 (QP - 2)
5 - Elsa O'Riain 3.50 (QP - 3)
6 - Olga Puchkova 3.50 (QP - 3)
7 - Beti Sekulovski 3.00 (QP - 0)
8 - Nicole Kriz 2.50 (QP - 1) Should get 8th seeding as she has a higher rank than Madita

9 - Madita Suer 2.50 (QP - 1)
10 -Lauren Cheung 2.25 (QP - 2)

Where players are on the same points I have ordered them in terms of ranking as that is what determines the order

11 -Rochelle Rosenfield 2.00 (QP - 0)
12 -Monique Adamczak 2.00 (QP - 0)
13 -Tiffany Welford 2.00 (QP - 1)

14 -Kristen Van Elden 1.50
15 -Amanda Augustus 1.50
16 -Chia-Jung Chuang 1.50 (QP - 1)
17 -Svenja Weidemann 1.50
18 -Prariyawan Ratanakrong 1.50
19 -Darya Ivanov 1.50

20 -Christine Alford 1.25
21 -Sophie Ferguson 1.25

22 -Samantha Stosur 1.00
23 -Jenny Belobrajdic 1.00
24 -Ilke Gers 1.00
25 -Adriana Szili 1.00
26 -Keiko Tameishi 1.00
27 -I-Ting Wang 1.00
28 -Karen Ionescu 1.00
29 -Christina Horiatopoulos 1.00

30 -Sarah Stone 0.75
31 -Gabrielle Baker 0.75
32 -Dubravca Cupac 0.75

All those players above should have direct entry into YarraWonga!

One would think that players like Stosur, Dowse and Hewitt aren't playing so that should see Kim Coventry sneak in! Dowse and Hewitt aren't going to play qualifying in a $10K event!

33 -Kim Coventry 0.75 (should get in)

34 -Bree Calderwood 0.75
35 -Lara Gilitnan 0.75
36 -Sevvy Gallios 0.75

37 -Ka Po Tong 0.50
38 -Jaslyn Hewitt 0.50 (don't think they will be playing!)
39 -Melissa Dowse 0.50 (don't think they will be playing!)
40 -Lauren Breadmore 0.50

Wonder what Ka Po Tong will be doing? She has to play Qualifying for Yarra Wonga???

* - Final Result still to be included

Here is the revised list with Quality Points included just in case they count! Only the top 16 positions change a bit!

1 - Nicole Sewell 9.00

AUSBOY ...... ??????

I know i'm right.

qualifier loses 1st rd 0.75pts
qualifier who wins 1st rd match = 1.75
qualifier who wins 1st rd match against Top 500 = 2.75

then additional pts (plus bonus pts if beating top 500)

0.5 for another win
0.5 for QF win
2.0 for SF win
1.0 for F win

ordinary loser in rd 1 = 0.5
1st rd = 1.0pts
win over top 500 = 2.0

and yes they do count pts for 3rd week as well but i was just doing it for the Masters which is more important.

I'm not doubting you TBE cos I know your knowledge is excellent!

I'm still confused though!

I agree a qualifer that loses in the 1st round gets 0.75!

I always thought though if a qualifier loses 2nd round they get 1.25 or 2.25! But I could be wrong!

The 0.75 is made up of 0.25 for qualifying + 0.50 for losing in the first round of a main draw.

I'm just reading off the new 2002 WTA Ranking Points sheet on Michael Blue's site.

TBE are you sure they count Quality points for the Masters???

TheBoiledEgg
Mar 17th, 2002, 08:24 AM
yep they count all points gained.

Qualifiers keep the 0.75 pts no matter how far they get in the event.

if a qual makes 2nd rd that is 1.0 quaranteed (if you look on past ranks where a qual has played and lost in 2nd rd you will see she gets 1.75 or 2.75pts.

Thanks, I didn't know they counted quality points for the Masters Event, thought it was just for the rankings. :)
