Here what I came up with:

Martina Hingis- although often compared to Agassi I think Hewitt is a great comparison. Both are improving their serves especially with placement and using it to take the ball early. Both anticipate extremely well, play angles and great defense and can take the ball early and come into the net. Both can can change the direction of the ball well and can handle pace by redirecting. Hewitt is faster but Martina has more feel and creativity. Hewitt is improving his finess while Martina is improving her foot speed. Both have quick hands and are gritty fighters who will make you play one more shot and can often transition rapidly from defense to offense.

Venus Williams- Marat Safin. Great athleticism, tons of power and huge serves. Can get frustrated by consistent players but when at their best can be quite consistent. When at their worst they spray balls. Great foot speed for being tall players who change directions quite well. Both tend to play relentlessly aggressive with Venus being more aggressive. Marat at his best is a better returner since he has routinely munched on Pete's serve. Venus is mentally stronger but can also get flustered and rush shots only she does not show it on her face like Marat.

Serena Williams - Pete Sampras Better disguise and more fluid motion on the serve than Venus much like Pete. More angles and looping shots than Venus from the baseline. The same can be said of Pete vs Marat. killer on the run forehands (venus does too but serena's is better imo). Serena has poor footwork sometimes unlike Pete though.

Monica Seles- Jan Michael Gambill because of the two-handed style and very hard hit groundies with angles. Both players improving their net game and can have lethal serves when one but Jan-Michael leads the tour in aces.

Kim Clijsters- James Blake or Andy Roddick. Maybe more Roddick but both like to run around and hit inside out forehands. Kim's serve is less a weapon than Andy's so that is like James but her backhand is two handed and less attackable than James one-hander so that is more like Roddick. Fast about the court and athletic and very very flexible like Roddick but sometimes stretches too much for the ball getting off balance and doing those splits. Never die say attitude sometimes poor shot selection (sometimes impatient and just go for winners that aren't there in big situations)

Justine Henin- Sebastien Grosjean. Both small, very fast, very explosive especially on the forehand side. Serves can be good but also a liability, prone to choking and nerves. Justine's backhand is more magnificent but Grosjean's twohander has improved and become quite consistent. Quite good at mixing up the pace, slicing, topspin and quickly exploding onto a shot to catch the opponent off guard. Both have good net games which are often underrated.

Amelie Mauresmo- Tommy Haas. Tons and tons of versatility and natural talent. Have every shot in the book and are explosive and can flatten shots out even after using heavy spin over and over. Good serves that can be aces or used to set up the point. Both improving their aggression and finishing points at the net. can sometimes get wild and go for too much or spray balls but both improving that area. can both get intimidated and are injury prone with the back especially. Lots of flair in their one handed backhands and both very very strong being too hit from deep behind the baseline with long swings. Can struggle against overwhelmingly aggressive powerful players but have success against Hingis (about 50-50) similarly to Haas's success against Hewitt.

Rita Grande - Fabrice Santoro. Not strong players but are magicians. Fabrice is older and has more feel but both play creatively and can be very dangerous to power players.

Jennifer Capriati- Roger Federer. Incredibly fit, can rally forever and has quite a bit of variety with a better forehand. Good serves for both but vulnerable to the service yips. Both very talented at a young age. Roger is not the perfect match in many ways with Jenn's style but his endurance against Sampras at Wimbledon reminds me of Capriati's endurance against Venus at the Ericsson (only he won and she did not)

Daniela Hantuchova- Gustavo Kuerten both VERY VERY fluid and graceful with ability to play consistently and then deceptively explode on balls. Both anticipate well and move quite gracefully and keep incredible depth on their sides. Good serves. Daniela is better by far at the net but Guga could do that if he committed to it. Both very composed but can spray balls when they are not on but somehow find a way to regain their composure. Both have great backhands but daniela's is two handed while Guga is a onehander. Mostly I see their fluidity and grace as being their biggest similarity along with their body structure. Both look skinny but use their limbs to create racquet head speed.

Andrew Ilie and Kveta Hrdlickova.

Both capable of playing extreme hardball tennis - like all power - going for flashy shots. Both have inconsistent results due to erratic play. Both can really smack the ball. :)

Lindsay Davenport- Yevgeny Kafelnikov. Both prone to bouts of negativity but are very very solid strikers of the ball with games that don't break down easily if the ball is in their strike zone. Both love the two handed backhand and have good forehands but can be erratic if they are mentally down or against fast, consistent players or players who can take pace off the ball or create topspin. Lindsay's serve is better but Yevgeny's can be a weapon especially on big points. Yevgeny is a great doubles player like Lindsay and can really finish points off at the net. Both are workmanlike in their games and strokes not too flashy and neither loves long rallies and lots of running because they are only moderately fast but both seem to have good stamina especially Kafelnikov but Lindsay has gotten very fit.

Amanda Coetzer - Rochus brothers. Super super fast and small players. Good counterpunchers but tend not to be aggressive enough. Never get tired and can wear even the biggest of giants down both physically and mentally.

Arantxa- Juan Carlos "mosquito" Ferrero. Both are grinders with great food speed (especially when Arantxa was Juan's age) Both great on clay but still good on hard courts. arantxa better on the backhand and juan carlos on the forehand. Neither have killer serves. Arantxa better at the net but she is older and more experienced.

Jennifer Capriati and Greg Rusedski :

Both use foul language on court!

I changed my mind. Arantxa is like Alex Corretja for all of the above reasons except Alex has a better than forehand just like Arantxa so he is a better match. Also both fight until the end.

Greg and Jennifer Capriati also both have great smiles, are quite temperamental and expressive. And I love them both. :D

HINGIS - HEWITT -- trefreund explained it all

VENUS - MARAT -- the power!!

Well the only ones I can think of at the moment are Kim Clijsters and Lleyton Hewitt  (Sorry! :) )
They both play from the baseline, don't have particualy big serves, but pretty large forehands, they also have good speed around the court and have identical fist pumping actions with the "C'MON" ;)
LOL@Jessica with the Greg and Jennifer one :)

I don't agree, their styles couldn't be more different, Hewitt's style is mostly based on speed and athleticsm. I can't really think of an atp player with Martina's style

hmmm, OK, sor of

Serena Williams - Pete Sampras Better disguise and more fluid motion on the serve than Venus much like Pete. More angles and looping shots than Venus from the baseline. The same can be said of Pete vs Marat. killer on the run forehands (venus does too but serena's is better imo). Serena has poor footwork sometimes unlike Pete though.

Strongly disagree, they both have a good serve, Serena's used Sampras as model, but similarities start and end in the serve and tennis is much more than that.
Sampras has a single-handed backhand, Serena double.
Sampras is a serve and volleyer, Serena is not
That second difference is enough, completely different styles.
I would think Serena's style is more similar to Andie Roddick.

Monica Seles- Jan Michael Gambill because of the two-handed style and very hard hit groundies with angles. Both players improving their net game and can have lethal serves when one but Jan-Michael leads the tour in aces.

Well, they both are two handed on both sides, but it's the same as saying they are similar because they were born in the same year. Monica is a top player who has won 9 GS singles titles, JMG, nevermind. both improving their net game? both can have lethal serves? Monica is a great player but her serve was never lethal.

I haven't seen Blake too much, so I can't say, Roddick? no way, Roddick's game may feature is the serve, if you don't have a huge serve you can't compare to Roddick. I think Kim can somehow be similar to her boyfriend Lleyton.

Excuse me???, both are explosive on the forehand side? talk to anyone that has seen Justine play and will tell you she has a good forehand but is explosive on the backhand side.
Justine has a one-handed backhand, maybe Grosjean's backhand is good, but two good backhands make two player's styles similar? two handed - one-handed it couldnt' be more different.
I don't know about Grosjean but Justine's game is not underrated that I am aware of.

No opinion on Haas, haven't seen him. I don't believe that Amelie has "every shot in the book"

Rita Grande - Fabrice Santoro. Not strong players but are magicians. Fabrice is older and has more feel but both play creatively and can be very dangerous to power players.

don't know Santoro to opinate.

Jennifer Capriati- Roger Federer. Incredibly fit, can rally forever and has quite a bit of variety with a better forehand. Good serves for both but vulnerable to the service yips. Both very talented at a young age. ok

Mostly I see their fluidity and grace as being their biggest similarity along with their body structure. Both look skinny but use their limbs to create racquet head speed. [/B]
Well, Hantuchova has a very good net game and her style adapts well to fast surfaces, notably grass. Navratilova thinks she can become a serve and volleyers. Kuerten is a claycourt specialist

Hingis - Kafelnikov/Rios, playing smart, very technical. all court game with accent on baseline.

Capriati - Agassi, fitness, fitness, fitness, waiting for the right time and bang..

Davenport, Pierce - Philippoussis, big serve, big groundies, low mobility

Venus - Safin, that's obvious, apart from mental part, of course

Clijsters - Hewitt, :)

Serena - no resemblance..

Seles - , well, Gambill if only because of his two hands, but he doesn't hit as hard ( relatively ) and flat as Monica. Early Agassi, perhaps.

Henin - Kuerten..

Mauresmo - Haas..

Dokic - , well, Ferrero, perhaps..

Oh yes you hit the nail on the head with Davenport - Philippoussis. Forgot about him but I don't agree with Clijsters - Hewitt but as time goes on she will learn from him. She is still WAY TOO INCONSISTENT about 50% of her matches and Lleyton is consistently consistent.

Now that I think about it Serena is actually quite similar to Roddick instead of sampras. Huge serves, huge groundies, tons of jumping into shots. Both move around the court with EXCESSIVE energy almost looking comical which can lead to injuries and errors. Both are extremely fast and Andy has great defense which Serena is beginning to try to develop.

I do think Kim's past year has been pretty consistent!?
How long has she been on tour ?how old is she?
What where her results in the past slams?
I thought so...;)
