My job is to study my little ass off to learn boring stuff I already know along with a healthy dose of Catholic propaganda (while wearing an incredibly goofy uniform, being paid nothing, hearing homophobic remarks incessantly and deprived of most of my free time), so I can qualify to go somewhere else where I'll study some more and pay them a lot of money so they'll give me a piece of paper that will let me get a job I actually want.

I'm not too worried about the afterlife, because I already spend a good chunk of my week in hell. It's called high school. :help:

I don't like my job, but I'm happy I have one and it pays me decent. The hours aren't too bad either and I get time off when I want it. It could be worse. My gf works as a waitress for $2.30 an hour + tips, and that's not good at all.

Hopefully someday I get my own business going. My cousin and I are working on that right now. :)

Parents are a PAIN in the ass...

I always have major discussion with them. I esspecially like the parents that say: 'my kid never does anything wrong, he's a good boy!' *ulgh*

It usually ends in me saying: Well, if you weren't this fucked up your kid probably wouldn't be either!

Yeah, right... Parents would love me!

Not really. I work at a big community playground. I council kids that got in trouble with the law and need to do a certain ammount of time on community services. I am there to keep them busy. Talk to them. Evaluate the work and their behaviour and stuff. It is really a great thing to do. Fun at times. But it can be pretty hard. I have seen some fucked up kids...

I work for an governement department that deals with the legal rights of mental patients. In the UK, when a patient is detained in hospital an order (called a section) can be placed on them to keep them in hospital and to ensure they take medication. There are different types of sections. Section 2 is for 28 days, section 3 lasts 6 months, section 25 means that a patient can live at home but must take medication and report to their doctor or social worker when told and section 37/41 is something placed on people who commit crimes due to mental illness (like when a patient kills someone because the "voices" told them to do so).

When a patient is under section they can appeal to have their section lifted. A hearing is arranged with a panel of three, a lawyer (to look after the legal side of things), a physciatrist and a "lay" member who is either a nurse, a member of the public or a social worker. They can either decide to discharge the patient, keep them in or set in place targets that have to be met before the patient can be discharged

My job is to go to various hearings and help set up the room, make sure the panel members have the correct reports, make their tea and coffe, get their lunch,, get the patient and their lawyer, doctor, social worker and nurse when the panel are ready to start, copy the decision form when the hearing is over etc...

I enjoy the job I do as its interesting, I get to travel quite a bit and get to read a lot. It can also be very nerving meeting people whose lives have gone really wrong and in times, quite pleasing when a patient is discharged.

However I don't like the people I work for. They are crap when it comes to making sure my pay comes through on time and the work isn't consistant enough. Last week I was working the whole time, apart from Tuesday mornings which I have off. This week I only have 4 hearings and will earn less then half of what I did last week :(

I work in a book store.

OK You probably thought: "How nice" and "I'd love to read books all the time".
It's not like that.. AT ALL. There is a lot of backchatting going on, with colleagues disliking each other and such. It is more like 'Survivor' conspiracies than a friendly atmosphere. I think I am on the safe side, with most people liking me, but then again.. Who knows! :tape: I love the idea of working in a book store, but reality just turns out to be different.

I've won an Oscar, a slew of other acting awards, made millions of dollars, have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, am the only person with my hand and foot prints set in gold dust at Graumann's Chinese Theatre, have loads of fans worldwide and am Hollywood royalty. What's not to like?

How'd you get your hand and foot done in gold dust?

Helen Lawson

I'd just divorced Jess and he and I were still at odds. He'd bought me loads and loads of fabulous gold jewelry over the years (with my money, bastard!) and I didn't like the jewelry anymore so I had it all ground into dust and sprinkled it into the cement as I set my feet and hands in it. I figured I was better than all those other turds who have their prints there, so why not make myself unique! If I didn't want to wear it anymore, I might as well make some use of it.

If I'm ever hard strapped for cash would you mind if I ripped out your prints and extracted the gold to pawn off?

Only if embezzling from the Save the Children Fund doesn't work first. Anything for a friend, but sacrifice the kids before sacrificing my gold dust prints.

Embezzling is such a dirty word. We call it overhead.

erm, i have 2 jobs

pub waiter - havent been asked to work in 4 weeks, so i might be sacked, but havent been told  Job is hard work. Running about trying to please people all the time.

Health Food Shop - such an easy job, and good pay. loved it @ first, but my boss has turned into a total bitch. I get these notes every week, about 10 pages of things to(the things she detests). Honestly, she could have done all of the fucking jobs herself if she didnt spend all that time writing notes
