I would like to refer to the breaksticks that Lena served up nice and hot to Dementieva in August.

Hmm....Bovina looked very very good against Kim and Elena despite the score didn´t convince me.

I think Bovina is more than capable of beating Lena D. Lena has a habit of losing in finals.

Well I think Elena needs this and she has a lot of points to prove, so hopefully her willpower will pull her through this one.

I hope Lena D can take it, but i guess the key(as with all Lena D matches) is how well Bovina returns her serve. If she attacks it, and she's on, i think she'll win.

I sort of agree. Elena played pretty good in my opinion, but Bovina looked very solid,at times even impressive.

That New Haven SF was

I really want Elena D to win. May she believe in herself and raise her game a notch, especially her serve.

She's had such a great year, a title would be nice for her too! Go Elena D! :D

i dont think that elena is going to lose to the same oppenent twice, especially one so mentally freagile as bovina CAN be... if elena d plays poorly and elena b plays decently, bovina will win, but if elena d urns up the heat and plays a good match, i think that the first title of the season is on the way

elena dementieva def. elena bovina: 2-6, 6-4, 6-2

who said that quote Deethelick?

Basically i think this will come down to Elena D.'s serve, because I think Bovina will go after it like Kuznetsova did

That New Haven semi was a serious indication of just how amazing Bovina's game can be. When Lena is serving well indoors, she's very hard to beat. Her serve placement is the best part of her serve, not so much the power on it. In New Haven, she was having some aces in the low 90's, the placement was THAT good. She serves well tomorrow, and Alyona is seriously dead.

Andrew, while Bovina has the better serve and formidable groundstrokes, Elena D is much more stable otherwise.

And especially in Women's tennis, Stability usually wins

I will again refer to my breaksticks chorus.

i actually think dementieva will win. her durability, fighting spirit, and stability will be golden tomorrow, and bovina won't be able to attack nearly as quickly as she did in new haven. this will cause her immense problems, and dementieva will tough it out.

i think elena b will win, i lie both players so i dont care who wins but i think elena b is playing better atm. it would be nice for elena d to get a title this year tho, in turn it would be nice for elena b to get another title this year so im happy both ways. but my pick is elena b.

When I say stable, it has nothing to do with their groundstrokes.

Elena D is much more stable mentally than Elena B is

But then again, Elena B has seemed to be getting over that

I agree with your other statements though, but give Elena D more credit than 6-1 6-1

Yes I have, but when it is 4-4 30-30 in the third, I'd count on Dementieva to come up with the goods more than Bovina

Thats what I meant

34 to 34
it's in one way crazy tro think dementieva will avenge a 6-1 6-1 loss.
but in the same way it seems inexplicable that she would go from beating vera, amelie, and jenn consecutively to lose to someone as unstable as bovina.

the gap from the top 10 to players like bovina is not much at all, although thats not a real sign of the depth of the womens game, it's more how mediocre the best players are

And if Bovina is having a hot day, she will win easily.

Elena Bovina Defeated Elena Dementieva at NEW Haven..6-1 6-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But Really the REVENGE MATch the score is much More closer..Look at Wimbledon, SERENA defeated J.Crap 6-1 6-1..but the next match at the US OPen..it went to 3 Close Sets..I'm goin with Elena Dementieva in 3 SETS or a Close 2 Tight SETS...but if Elena Bovina is ON HEr GAme & Attacks Elena Dementieva's weak 2nd serve..the match will be over in a hurry like NEW HAVEn..Elena Dementieva Wants HER REVENGE! Will BE A GREAT MATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!

Elena B was playing out of her mind against LD at the US OPEN.
She can serve bombs so....if it comes down to holding serve
it's not surprising that the scores from Belgium are as such right
now.

Congrats to Elena D. She certainly started holding serve from 1-4 down in the final set.

Elena D knows how to work it out. Bovina may have played great at New Haven, but overall Dementieva is a better player IMO. And she's said she is always motiavted to beat someone she lost to the last time.

And she gave Bovina a bagel. Hmmmm! I think we need to see that even with that serve Elena D is still a very tough player to play against and not to read too much into her liability her serve can be.
