View Full Version : Will Kim Clijsters win Australian Open 2005?

Sep 28th, 2004, 04:39 PM
For the last 3 years, she has lost to the winner in 3 sets.
2002 l. Capriati 7-5 3-6 6-1
2003 l. S. Williams 4-6 6-3 7-5
2004 l. Hardenne-Henin 6-3 4-6 6-3

It's only right for her to win this time

It going to be an interesting AO. With the Russians, Americans and the Belgiums fighting for the championship.

Toughest AO in years.

the question is, will she get to the quarters at Gaz De France

She will be ranked around 20 after the Australian Open in my opinion. but hey i thought the same thing about venus, so lets see if she can steady herself around the top 10.

good luck kim, and hope you have a healthy and successful comeback

I don't think she'll ever win a slam, but hey, you never know. She needs a break to win a slam imo, someone getting injured choking whatever. Things haven't really worked out for her, she just cannot get rid of her nerves in finals. I think the AO is the most likely for her to win though.

Id really like to see her win the AO and if she trains as hard as she has done in past off seasons Id give her a great chance. - believe me Kim doesnt have to worry about the Gaz de France!

No, Lindsay will :D

chances are less than 50%, so i voted no, but she's definitely one to watch to win it. she had the game to win it last year and lost a close one to justine, so perhaps this could be her year while the spotlight is off.

I believe that she has a chance coz now she's REALLY focus on GSs and Masters.

i think kuznetsova has a strong chance and lindsay too if she doesnt retire

nope  doesnt look good for the aussie but it will be interesting!

I think this will be an interesting one. I voted no, but I think that Zurich and Moscow, and the YEC, if Serena makes it, will be GREAT indicators of who's ready to dominate the tour. I think Serena SHOULD win the Oz, but that's why they play 7 matches. It will very interesting to see who brings it. I think it will be either, Justine, Venus, Serena, or Lindsay who will win, but you never know.

No, but why do people have to catch up with her? she has not won any slams! for now, my pick is serena i think she will be very motivated for next year!

It's open for the Australian Open 2005; but I don't see her
as a finalist. Winning a grand slam is about the will and desire
to win. Unfortunately like Amelie, Kim has a reputation of
folding during the big match moment, and the others will seize
the opportunity.
