WOW! Na continues her very impressive form! She's playing Jelena Jankovic tomorrow, so no day off unfortunately. She's got to be somewhat tired after all these matches in a row. Still, I hope she can keep this string of upsets going. Does anyone know what her schedule will be after this tournament? She seems poised to have a great end to the year and really make a big splash in 05, but she may choose to go back to the challenger level instead. Tomorrow's match should give us a good idea of her potential and what she can do against the top players. Her match against Kuznetsova was high quality, but that could have been just one incredible day for her. We'll see in her match against Jelena if she is already able to play like that consistently. I just worry that she's going to get tired sometime soon. GO NA!!!!

Has she lost only only 1 match in ITF events or something, she really impressed throughout the Sveta match, very high quality.

is she related to Li Na Krasnoroutskaya?

Happy Guy
Sep 28th, 2004, 02:08 PM
Better say LI is her surname and NA is her given name.

Chinese address the surname first, completely different from Westerners.

So Ting Li has the surname of LI, Tian Tian Sun has the surname Sun.
Zi Yan's surname is Yan, Shuai Peng's surname is Peng. Jie Zheng's surname is Zheng.

She seems poised to have a great end to the year and really make a big splash in 05, but she may choose to go back to the challenger level instead.

Well, I think they reason she kept going back to the Challenger tour before was because she had a difficult time adjusting to the WTA Tour. It's very hard to go out there and lost in the first round when you're used to winning week in and week out on the ITF tour. I guess she probably thought at the times before she wasn't ready for the WTA tour. Now though, she's won two matches over two decent players very easily, and has given a top 5 player (and grand slam champion) a really, really tough match. I think she might be ready, and hopefully she thinks so as well.
