I don't understand why you say that. I think it is interesting for the tournament to have a top ten player, even if the second seed is only ranked 45.

Yes, I'm sure people would love to see a tournament where the spectators only know about their own country players and no one else, especially in South Korea:o.
It is required for a tier IV to have at least 2 silver exempt players.
This tournament has none, and because they have invited Maria to come, the have fulfilled that obligation. No rule is broken at all.
It is important to note that Monica comes to Asia for tier IV's as well, and people greeted her with great hospitality, I'm pretty sure same will happen to Maria. I personally dont find anything wrong with them being the tennis ambassator.

Actually they had at least two silver exempts from what I can see --- Asagoe and Srebotnik. .
