Hmmm, that must be one of the strangest names for a tournament I've heard. Sounds like a Lord of The Rings style movie!!!

How good are these players relatively in Junior world rankings terms? I presume they're mainly players who haven't gone out on the international junior circuit much yet.

Most of these are beginners (14/15) with some 17 yr olds thrown in as well.
last yr this was a grade 5 event.

Vera Douchevina d. Maria Kirilenko in 2001 final.

Anna Tchakvetadze is the class player in field.

Izjevsk in the state of Udmurtia is around 1000km east of Moscow, near Kazan.

Udachi Anna T!

There is no shortage of Blond tennis playing Anna's from Russia. Are there Eggy? Are there brunette Russian Anna's? I've never seen one!

Is Anna T. a real prospect? I've seen one photo of her and she seems very slight. I think she played on one of the junior Russian teams last year. And she played well, if I recall correctly.

Anna only turned 15 two weeks ago.

she is a bright prospect, probably hit the big time in the juior scene next year.

brunette Anna's there are some lower down ranks ;)

this went to form with top 2 seeds meeting in final.
