Tennis gains look of a Borscht Belt by Jere Longman

This is a really great article about Russian tennis. It discusses the history of Russian tennis, and talks about the present issues that could cause major problems for Russian tennis in the future.

It seems that greedy Russian parents could be one of the greatest threats to the Russian Revolution :(

Nice reading. Thanks. Most things are to the point.

I only don't like they speculate on LenaD's words about AnnaK and Maria.

A fact from my family. My uncle was good as a junior player. One year he was supposed to go to junior Wimby. But during of the tournaments in Moscow he broke his racket and wasn't allowed to Wimby by Soviet tennis Federation as "too nervous".

Fortunately, it's different now.

I know that ys knows a lot about tennis in Soviet times. About Morozova, Baksheeva, Chmyreva...Maybe, he'd comment on this article.
