Daniela has 1186.75pts :)
so she is #19

Mar 12th, 2002, 08:39 PM
Congrats to Daniela!! :D

1186.75? Really? Jannak must be missing 1.75 points then.

Mar 12th, 2002, 08:41 PM
jannak doesn't use fractions

she had 1098.75 before this (Jannak had her on 1099)

she got 23 pts for beating Lisa and 65 for reaching SF (88)
1098.75 + 88= 1186.75

An incredibly impressive performance from Daniela, beating an in-form Lisa raymond so conclusively. Even at the start of the 2nd set I thought Lisa might turn the match round.

But Dani caught fire from 1-2 down in the 2nd set and didn't lose another game. She fired winners from everywhere and took all the big points.

A well-deserved entry to the Top 20 for this exciting,, mature and talented player.

Congratulations! :wavey:

Thanks TBE! :D

Jannak had 63 points listed for reaching into semis. So, that's how I got 86 points for this round instead of 88 points. Thanks again!

And another Congrats to Dani!! Very impressive! :D :D

This girl knows what to do!:)

Daniela is the real deal and she will be a future grandslam champion. She will be in top 10 before the year is out. Probably in about 3 months tops. I like her game and style.

Ditto what Dawn Marie said! :D

Mar 12th, 2002, 08:59 PM
I must see her play again. Though she wasn't that impressive when I saw her, it was obvious that she was nervous.

I don't know about that top 10 by the end of the year thing, though.

Mar 12th, 2002, 09:27 PM
I think Lisa and Dani could've played all day and Lisa still wouldn't have won a set.

What's most impressive is how few out-and-out horror/ugly shots that she has. Every ball is hit with a purpose.

Dawn, I'll have to hold you to that! :p

Mar 12th, 2002, 09:28 PM
Congrats Daniela! :D

Well done by Hantuchova, she has been one to watch and it's nice to see her doing so well. Sadly, I thought that Magdalena would be ranked higher at this point

He he .. I like Daniela. Her game is awsome to watch. I also like her on- court presence. She just better not beat my favs.. lol.

No actually I have been chatting about her since last year. I first noticed her at Wimby 2001. When she played Venus. She moves the ball well and has all the tools to be a STAR. A WINNING STAR. She will be in top 10 soon.:)

Like what Billie Jean King said when she first saw Dokic play at Wimby,...*THIS KID KNOWS WHAT TO DO*.

I can't wait until Nathalie is out the rankings. She's just hindering others ranking.

Mar 13th, 2002, 01:03 AM
Daniela will be ranked #11 at the end of the year. ;)

She's better than everyone ranked 11-20, but I'm not so sure any of those in the Top Ten will move from their positions without a fight.

But watch out for a serious assault on the Top Five in 2003.

Mar 13th, 2002, 01:38 AM
Congratulations Daniela!Keep it going and win some titles!:)

Finally! Her ranking is catching up with her talent! :bounce: :D

Mar 13th, 2002, 02:12 AM
Her ranking is still down for her level, I think she will be a top ten player this year:wavey:

Mar 13th, 2002, 02:26 AM
I'm impressed...... She'll be hard to beat in the finals for whoever comes out from the other half! Gagliardi will be no threat...she'll be gone like Raymond, in straight!:bounce:

Mar 13th, 2002, 02:46 AM
Congrats Daniela! I've been waiting for her to move up since I saw her in Philly a couple of years ago.:)

Mar 13th, 2002, 12:59 PM
Congrats Daniela, onwards and upwards! :bounce: :bounce:
Like Dawn, I first saw her at Wimbledon 2001 playing Venus (though I'd been following her results since the beginning of that year). And she lost, but she made me take note of her... Well done girl.

Mar 13th, 2002, 01:36 PM
I don't think we've even begun to see the full extent of Daniela's talent yet. I congratulate her on her Top 20 breakthrough and am eager to see her continued climb to the top.

Mar 13th, 2002, 01:40 PM
i like her look
i like her style
i like her tennis
she is the best, and she is my #2, not far behind #1

Mar 13th, 2002, 03:00 PM
the first time I saw her play was at the doubles final with ASV against the spice girls at AO this year.

Very impressive, like her game very much and of course her little infamous black dress has caught my attention. :p

Go all the way at IW, Daniela! :)

Mar 13th, 2002, 03:50 PM
I have seen Daniela play many, many times (because I taped the match between her and Venus, lol). Martina N. was talking her up so much during the match. She is very impressed with her style of play along with the rest of us. Talk about loooong legs ....

Mar 13th, 2002, 04:30 PM
:bounce: Yay Daniela!! :bounce:

Mar 14th, 2002, 03:16 AM
Actually shell be number 18 theoreticially without Nathalie Tauziat being there.

I'm going to keep my eyes on Hantuchova.

Mar 14th, 2002, 03:52 AM
Impressive girl!
congrats and good luck!

Mar 14th, 2002, 07:26 PM
I've gotta say, I was really impressed with Daniela (even though she did beat Justine:( ) and she's shown us how much of a talented player she really is.

She's a very mature and confident player without being arrogant, and that shows in the way she plays so well against higher-ranked players. I first saw Daniela play Venus in the AO, and I want her to continue her success.

Good luck Daniela, you can win at IW!:bounce:
