American History X - its disturbing as hell, but only because there is truth in the events that unfold in it. It hurts to think that stuff like that actually did, and still does, happen. Edward Norton was amazing in this movie. His oscar nomination was MUCH deserved.

The Basketball Diaries - another disturbing flick. I thought that it showed how a punk kid with a decent future can throw it all away and become a total junkie, extremely well. Though I'm not a big fan of his and think he often takes on terrible roles - this movie reminded of what a superb actor Leonardo DeCaprio is when given the right script.

Wonder Boys - I'm not sure what I liked about this one so much - I just found it a ver entertaining story to follow. It was a tad depressing at times, but the characters were quite complex and well casted. Michael Douglas and Robert Downey Junior were both very good, though I felt that Toby McGuire outshone them both.

God...I could talk about movies all night. Better than studying for a midterm, which I SHOULD do all night! :D

Here are my favorites, from recent times, at least:

"Pulp Fiction" (my all-time favorite movie)

"American Beauty"
"Shakespeare in Love"
"Being John Malkovich"
"Go"
"Flirting With Disaster"
"Seven"
"10 Things I Hate About You" ;)
"The Silence of the Lambs"
"The Crying Game"
"Four Weddings and a Funeral"
"Beauty and the Beast" (best animated film ever, by a landslide)
"In the Bedroom"
"Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring"

I also dig those crazy screwball comedies from the 30's and 40's, like "Bringing Up Baby," "The Philadelphia Story," and "His Girl Friday."

And of course "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

And Mel Brooks' best films, like "The Producers," "Young Frankenstein," and "Blazing Saddles."

I'm also partial to trash like "Bring It On." That was a GREAT movie. :D
