In the US coverage, not many! :( Although there were actually two clips of both Amelie (the first one very nice, the second very brief) and Eleni Daniilidou. I also saw Patty Schyder and Maria Sharapova, although the US commentators didn't mention *ANY* of these names. They did mention Federer (well he was the flag bearer after all). There were two shots of Moya also and I think the guy from Italy in the laurel wreath is a player, isn't he?

Sharapova isn't playing in Athens.
I didn't watch the whole thing, but from the little that I saw, I managed to spot Misha Youzhny and Nadia Petrova. Misha was having a blast, possibly having too much fun. Usually, all you get to see is him being serious and moody, but in the Opening Ceremony, he was bopping away to the music and getting right into it. It was funny to see him act like that. :D

Oh oops! guess it wasn't her then! my bad.... must've been some other very pretty blonde Russian athlete. As I said, the US folks said no names.

I managed to see Federer, Ferrero and Lopez, Petrova, Youznhy (he did look like he was having a blast, trying to draw attention to himself!), Nalbandian, Danilidou, Bjorkman, Mauresmo, Hantuchova, Schaul (she was the flag bearer!), and Srichaphan.

The only ones the commentators mentioned were Nalbandian, Federer and Srichaphan. Also mentioned Lapentti for Ecuador but didnt have a shot of him.
