I wasn't laughing at Justine, I was laughing at Karin! I saw her play in Zwevegem and she's the worst player I've ever seen :o :o :o Goele Lemmens, playing her 1st ITF match ever, was KILLING her in the 1st set :o Karin's mother was even laughing, she found it funny :cuckoo:
And now Justine Bourdon, playing in her 1st match, beat Karin-Marlies too :p ;)

As usual, the organisators don't keep their promises. I didn't keep the updated draws! I don't understand them. They don't publish the draws anywhere, I offer them to publish them which is some for free advertising , they just have to e-mail the pdf files, and they don't do it.
Anyway, some explanations about the results of the Belgians. Ornella Gentile had to withdraw (injured at the back). Wouters won quite easily, 7/5 (or 7/6)-6/2. Baijot lost the first set 6/2, won the second one 6/2 or 6/3 and led 4/2 before Goetz came back to 4/4 40/0 on her serve. Then Cecile hit a ball which was out but close to the line and the referee considered it ok. Her opponent lost her nerve and the game and Cecile could serve for the match. She hold her serve and won 6/4. Barbara Laurent lost in straight sets but showed a far better game than last year. Eva De block won against a quite weak opponent. A lucky draw is a good thing from time to time. Klaartje van Baarle got a tough opponent and although she fought on every point she lost 6/4-6/2. I just saw a few points of Tatiana Cutrona and Aline Coulon, therefore I have no opinion on their matches.

4 of the 19 Belgians in the third round, rather depressing :o
but when you look at last year, there were only 2 in the third round (Claes and Bailly) and only Bailly won her match, but lost in the final round then
I sure hope at least one of them qualifies, but looking at the four who are still left, I'm not expecting much, if I'm not mistaken, I think Eva is the only who has qualified for a tournament this year, I don't even know if the others have even qualified once in their career?

Yes I've just put it on. I went this afternoon but I just arrived when it started pouring. A true shower.
Anyway, draws and schedule of play are on my site.
Belgian results are very poor...

Julie had played some more tournaments before this one (that was actually last week, cuz I posted the results back then) but never managed to reach round 2. Anciaux was listed as Belgian on the draw I found...she lost 6-1 6-0 against Van Horne (1)

For Caroline, maybe it was 6-1... I don't really remember!! 6-1 or 6-3
I had to leave after the 1st set of Aude's double match. Her partner and her lost the first set 6-3 after leading 3-1  Aude was playing well, her partner made some bad mistakes at times!
I saw Emilie Bacquet playing as well, and she is really good! She has a killing forehand, she hits really flat! Emilie is also really beautiful!!! I talked to Emilie's mother, actually I asked her if Emilie was finally belgian or french... she told me Emilie had the double nationality (2 passports and 2 identity cards). But for the WTA, she is french. Because the French federation is helping her more than the Belgian is doing. And it's also better for the WC in France. And finally, when she plays WTA tournaments, when she beats higher ranked players, her french ranking improves as well, while in Belgium it stays the same and she have to play Belgian tournament to improve her ranking. So that's why she is playing for France. Btw, she has a really cute chiwawa (sp??) (but she let him lick her face and mouth after the match  :vomit: )

Huh?
For example, now she is in the QF of Rebecq, so her french ranking will improve with the quality points of the players she defeated (and the ranking points). While in Belgium, she wouldn't get any points for her qf in Rebecq.

The national rankings :p Like in Belgium you are ranked even if you are not a pro :p (C 30.4, B, A)
In France, WTA results counts in those rankings, while apparently in Belgium it doesn't as she told me to improve her Belgian ranking she had to play Belgian tournaments

I've been there 2h this afternoon after my tennis practice in Brussels and Emilie Bacquet :hearts: (too bad she isn't belgian) won easily in 2 sets.
Balaci is really good and hitting really hard and was leading Leslie by 1 set when I left and Jessie De Vries/Debbrich Feys were leading 3*-2. They seemed to be a really good team together. I think they'd win against their argentian/french opponent. (Jessie is really good looking!)
I took some pics, I'll try to post some soon

I don't know if I can mention this here. But the ladies competition in my club is won by Claudia Smolders. She beat Patty Van Acker in the final: 3-6, 7-6, 6-4.
In a 3h match starting at 11h until 14h, under a very heavy sun!
Patty had to play another final in Kortemark that day, but she was a bit down after the match. It's a pity, she could have won, but there will be other chances :D
