So....
The draw has just been announced:)

http://www.rogerscup.com/common/TrackIt.asp?file=/posting/2004/806/MDS.pdf

doesn't look bad in my opinion. Amelie should get without any bigger difficulties to Sf, where she would probably face Sharapova (although we never know... )

ANYWAY

Lots of luck out there!
Kick some ass Amelie!

on her side of the draw Bovina, Hantuchova and Sugiyama are scary ... the rest she can handle i think....Bovina scares me the most hantuchova also has the confidence against Momo because the head to head is 2-1 in her favor....Fed cup 2 years ago and EASTBOURNE SEMIS just before wimbeldon...

she may change and take the Serena's place in the draw ?
if she (Serena) withdraw ? not much easier

I think if she withdraws after the Draws were decided then Serena will be replaced by a lucky looser from the qualifying rounds....they wount change all the seeding if a seeded player withdraws....

Serena Williams Withdraws
August 1, 2004

The top seed of the Rogers Cup, American Serena Williams, announced her withdrawal from the Montreal event Sunday. She retired with a left knee injury during Friday's quarter-final at the Acura Classic in California. This is the same knee that required surgery in August of 2003, keeping her out of action for eight months. She hopes to regain her form in time to compete in singles and doubles with her sister Venus at the Olympic Games in Athens.

Hi erverybody!
I really did not mean to cause that much trouble in posting in German. As Im learning for my examinations next week, I have not that much time to post anything in this forum in English, because it costs me more time than doing it in German. Of course I could have send a private message...but as I said, I did not expect to cause that much trouble :worship:
For the future I will answer only in English I promise
And I think that will do for this theme :wavey: :wavey:

Thank you everyone for those nice photos ...

Karolina prem is a spicy player, but if Momo'll be playing her best there should be no major problem in reaching semi-finals. All I can say about Karolina is "it ain't over till it's over"...she'll be fighting till the very last point. Ame was watching Karolina play against Venus so she knows what to expect.
Good luck Amelie :bounce:

Mauresmo to take on Sprem

France's Amlie Mauresmo managed to pull off a tight 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win over Russian Elene Bovina Thursday. While the first set caused no problems for Mauresmo, Bovina turned it up a notch in the second. Solid forehands right down the line, a strong and precise serve, and success at the net were just a few of the strategies used by the Russian to take the second set.

In frustration, Mauresmo hit a ball into the crowd.
But coming out strong on the third, the No.2 seed neutralized Bovina, coming out stronger and more accurate, with a dangerous and powerful backhand. The Frenchwoman finally managed to close out the match, despite not playing at her usual level.

Croatian Karolina Sprem had a much easier match against Japan's Ai Sugiyama, winning 6-3, 6-4. It was the first WTA match-up between the two players. An efficient Sprem was able to convert three out of four break opportunities and win the most important points

WOOWWW !! Momo, please behave yourself honey !!! :)

Do you imagine yourselves, being seated nearby the court, watching the match, and receiving a furious ball from Momo ?????

A very good match. Congratz to both of them:D K-lina was taking a full risk all the time as usual. Momo was w8ing for her faults, which finally came in the 7th game of the final set. Amelie was oatient and focused throughout the match.
Her serve was there on the crucial points, which is just gr8 (4 amazing serves in the last game :yeah: )

Lots of luck in the doubles match as well :bounce:
