Great job Lindsay! She didn't lose serve at all and only faced one break point.

K-Lina was on fire at the beginning. But after getting broken early, Davenport was on fire. Nothing wrong with that loss. What can you do against the top active player on tour at the moment?

Ain't no shame there K-Lina!

I predicted 6-3, 6-1, so I was "tecnically" right. :D Lindsay is on fire! :woohoo:

Not really a surprising result. But did Linds lose her serve in the match or not?

Yeah Sprem broke her in the 1st game to take a 2-0 lead but then lindsay broke right back and each held serve until 4-all. Then you know where the match went

Whatever today's result is, I still believe Karolina is a future champion in the making. Not by the score but by the way she plays.

Karolina is going to be Lindsay's bitch like Jelena if she thinks she can outslug Lindsay from the baseline. Lindsay has soo many angles and she just plays into her game.

Well, if Karolina ever played against Lindsay like she did against Venus at Wimbledon it would be interesting...

Yay! :D Lindsay! Good win. Keep up your amazing form, please.

Better luck next time, Karolina, and best wishes for your next tourney. Sounds like a good fight in the first set. Your time will come... very, very soon. With that kind of talent, how could it not? :worship:

Had Venus withdrawn earlier, K-Lina would have been seeded. She is just unlucky.
She is turning into another Jelena Dokic as Lindsay already knows how to beat her now.
And with the indoor season coming up, K-Lina better pray she is not playing Lindsay until 2005.

This is a totally expected result. I would have been surprised to death if Sprem even won more than 5 games in a set.

Well, if Karolina ever played against Lindsay like she did against Venus at Wimbledon it would be interesting...
Davenport is more consistent off the ground these days than Venus is. And Sprem seems to return better again power serves than a serve like Lindsay's. She just eats up the pace off the serve and dishes it back with even more force. But Davenport doesn't use all-out power on the serve; with her height she gets excellent placement.

poor k-lina....she needs to learn how to mix things up a bit more. throw in a few slices here and there, a few dropshots and trick her with a slow first serve....come to the net....

hopefully martinez can beat lindsay and tire her out with her slices and loooong rallies.
