For me, it's Kim Clijsters, by far, out of the 13 players who do you think are the less talented.

#1-the least talented.
1. Kim
2. ASV
3. Serena

Venus held it for the least amount of time, but she is a lot more talented.

Not these damn threads again!!! Looks like I'll be the one to repeat what has been said over and over again. They all reached #1 because they deserved it. They all worked hard and all have a certain part of talent.

These threads are everywhere, over on ampasworld.com, they had a "least talented Best Actress Winner" contest, and they even broke it down by decade. :o Luckily, they gave the 1950's to Anna Magnani, so I didn't make "the cut" to the final where they had decade winners competing. Marlee Matlin edged out Ginger Rogers.

Define talent.

If you mean least deserving (which I assume you do,) then

Kim Clijsters

It should be a rule that you can't reach no. 1 withouth having first held a grand slam title. As Kim will never win a grand slam, she doesn't deserve the no. 1. All the other no.1s have validated their ranking with slam wins and consistent victories over other top players in the game. Clijsters can't even beat Justine consistently, let alone Venus/Serena.

I'd like to have been talented enough to reach number one. Nevermind whether I was the best of the list, to get there, I'd have been better than the rest of the tour, so who else would there have been to beat?

Least talented? Talent is a hard thing to define, but I'd say Arantxa followed by Lindsay.

how dumb can u get?or are u just pretending to be stupid?

they reached #1. period. there's no more talented-less talented crap in that. they're all talented in different ways. ASV may not have had the serve, but she had the grit, speed and determination and will to win. serena may not have the volleys but she has the serve, the return and much of everything else. justine may not have the size, but she has the strength.

i mean, seriously!

Well, talents do not always equal the results. Ask anyone which Williams sisters is more talented, they are more likely to say Venus than Serena, but Serena's results are by far better Venus'. But I know what you mean, I do place Lindsay in the bottom half of the 13 people, but I wouldnt say she is the least talented #1.

and kim too by the way...she also has a winning record over "one of the most talented players ever born" and her last 4 of her last 5 victories over lindsay have been very one-sided....the one that went to 3 sets....hah, kim won the first and 3rd 6-1. and by the way, these were all on hardcourt....not clay.

arantxa ALSO has a winning record over lindsay.

Is it just me or are you just hating on her?:).
what I meant to say was that she is one of the most talented players ever born, and comparing to the other 12 #1's, she is no the least talented. But she has weaknesses, and she can be exploited by the less talented players like Martina was at the end of her careerr. But saying Kim or Arantxa being more talented than Lindsay, despite Arantxa's better accomplishment overall, I will have to disagree with that.

last time I checked, Lindsay had more success than anantxa. 42 titles and 18 million (and counting!) Arantxa won 4 grand-slams to lindsay's 3...but Lindsay won three different ones, and got to two more finals as well.

No it isn't or at least Navratilova and Evert are switched. Chris Evert was the first computer ranked number one.

i'm not hating on her. but how would u say that lindsay is more talented that kim?they play a lot alike, hard from the baseline, with lots of angles. if u compare the two, kim is more talented as she can turn defense into attack (against lindsay and lower ranked players) and she can change direction of the ball as well. and kim does not really make lindsay run when they play, she can keep the rally going and she always has more winners than lindsay.and she canplay on ALL surfaces, which obviously means she's more talented.

I cant say who is the least talented because its really hard. They capture the number one ranking because they were the best!!!!!!!

On the other hand I could say who is the most talented on all of them per category.

Game variety- Martina Navratilova
Groundtrokes consistency and effectivity- forehand/backhand- Lindsay Davenport and Chris Evert
Game tactics- Martina Hingis
Defensive game- Martina H., Arantxa and Clijsters
Agility/Court movement/footwork- Williams sisters
shot for shot- backhand- Venus and Martina H.
shot for shot-forehand- Steffi and Capriati
shot for shot- volleys- Both Martina's
Serve- Lindsay and Serena
Angled shots- Monica Seles

The great number 1's

Navratilova (the best ever!!!)
Graf (Nearly 4 years consecutively)
Evert (she was always number 1 or 2 for a good 13 years)
Seles (All through 1992 is good enough for me)
Hingis (she was there many times and from may 2000- october 2001

The good number 1's

S.williams (ruled for a whole year in 2002)
Henin (three slams out of four)

The ok 1's

Davenport ( periods in 1998,1999 and she was there back n forth for a while in 2000)
V. williams (she did win the us open and wimbledon in 2000 and 2001)

Lame 1's

ASV (she did reach a lot of slam finals but was number 1 for like 8 weeks
capriati (Loss to many matches to be number 1)
austin (A couple of weeks in 1980)
