thanx mathias...the final results missing is here -

WC-Dellacqua d 1)Stosur 6-1 5-7 7-5 :o

wtf?? That loss is a joke! Casey isnt even ranked yet, what a shocker! :( pfffff...Im starting to feel that the hype is getting to Sam's head...Ive seen her play and she is a great little player, but with her recent crap results there's too much undeserved hype on the kid :(

Kristen :( I guess she just ran out of gas! Good win for Sewell.

Beti :D I didnt expect a score like that! We almost had another upset there...anyway, I expect Beti to win now...but the way things are going

Dellacqua v Puchkova
Sewell v 5)Sekulovski
7)Adamczak v Suer
2)McShea v O'Rian

Hoping for a Beti v Monique final!
Olga Puchkova is really impressing!

Mar 7th, 2002, 09:24 AM

Kristen :(

Tiffany ??

Should be interesting to see whether she gets a wildcard next week or not.

Well done Bets.....its good to get a tough win in the earlier rounds and be ready in the latter rounds when it really counts! i much prefer a tough ahrd fought win thana str8 sets drubbing :)!

Too bad for Cheung.....atleast she knows where her game stands right now , definately on the way up ;)!

I'm hoping for a Beti Vs Monique final..two youngsters with good games . Beti with her feisty chase down everything type of game Terry?? and Monique with her game modelled on Graf :)!

Casey Dellacqua is a Perth girl. She's been working with Lesley Bowrey along with a few other promising Perth girls. She's quite a handy player. But the win over Stosur is still surprising. Casey must be working really hard.

Kristen, argh :(

well done Elsa and Lisa though :D at least one of them can pick up a semifinal, hopefully the winner of their match can keep going ;)

Mar 8th, 2002, 01:43 AM
No surprise with Casey Dellacqua's win, she beat Stosur two months ago at a junior event, she made huge progress in the last 4 months and next round will be interesting!

Disappointed with Rosenfields effort. Thought Sewell would bet kristen, she hits deadly low slice on this surface that was always going to trouble Kristen as she likes a higher bounce on her backhand

Mar 8th, 2002, 01:50 AM
Woohoo Elsa! Keep it going girl! :D

Mar 8th, 2002, 06:30 AM
It's hard to be motivated when you are playing for half a point! That was the case with Kristen. As for the Russian Olga, I know the other girls regard her as very arrogant and unpleasant. But maybe that's what it takes!!!!

Kathy, what Russian Olga are you talking about? Olga Puchkova from Belarus? If you are talking about this Olga, you are wrong. She's not arrogant at all. In fact her main problem is a lack of confidence and arrogance. From what I've heard about her, she is a very nice girl.

Well Done Casey, an impressive debut in an ITF event!!! Nice to see Lisa McShea quietly sneaking through the draw! Nice upset again for Nicole, she might make her first final here!

Kathy, I know its disappointing your daughter lost, and yes 0.5 of a point isn't much motivation but why is she playing these $10K events? She is passed this stage in her career, she should be playing $25K/$50K events and Qualifying for Tier V WTA events. Hope your sending her for the 2x$50K events coming up in Asia that Molik dominated last year!

Olga is a doll, The Cat has captured her persona well.

Have we forgotten who the real fan of Olga is?

Mar 9th, 2002, 03:21 AM
pfffff Beti and Monique lost...there goes my interest :(

Kathy, fair point, but maybe Kristen should do away with the $10Kers and play bigger events?...she's at a ranking now where $10Kers dont really do anything for her total, so hopefully she will make the step up and rise, as she is very talented.
Give her our best, she has many fans here :)

Mar 9th, 2002, 03:22 AM
bad luck Olga

Kathy ..... you were there ??? What did Olga do exactly ??

if not ..... then you should stop these comments on little kids.
Olga even if she was arrogant/unpleasant .... she's only 14.

She will get out of this cycle pretty quick in a year or so.

Mar 9th, 2002, 07:07 AM
Oh bummer! Elsa lost! :( But at least she's moving up the rankings!

I should start cheering for Kristen! lol I live near Geelong, went to Uni there and cheer for the Supercats in basketball! lol

Mar 9th, 2002, 10:36 PM
Hopefully Lisa can win the final, she needs the confidence that would come with this win so much, and go Stone/Stosur in doubles final!

Cat, she could be talking about Olga Barabanschikova from Belarus?
I've heard some people take a few shots at her in the past.
She seems very cool though.
