No disrespect to any of the French players but I'm not to friendly towards the ITF & the FFT :(
The ITF should keep out of national olympic selections, but the French Federation should definitely know the rules before annoucing team selections.

I will support all the FRENCH team of course, except Sandrine TESTUD in singles. Her level is quite poor, and she had to decline the selection. She isn' t at her place. Tatiana GOLOVIN deserved her place !!!!! :fiery: again !!!!!

It's unfortunate that someone who helped win a Fed Cup for France and has given alot to French tennis and the women's game is being disparaged and is receiving little support. We still love you in America, Sandrine...

Allez to you and the rest of the Frenchies!!!

Pfft NO. That' s stupid, I'm very happy to see her back on the court, but she haven' t got a high level, and she isn' t at her place in Athens. Tatiana Golovin had better chances to have success than her !

Sandrine definitely earned her place on the team. She's been a very loyal player to the French Team in Fed Cup and couldn't compete in 2000 Sydney since she was injured. While she hasn't competed at the same level as she used to, but we know she'll fight hard to win.

And of course, no one is speaking of Mary Pierce either. She's been doing well in Montreal, and she could be a threat in Athens!

Vive la France!!!!!!!

Vive la France!!!!!!!No, I'm sorry but once again, I disagree ... In all the other sports being loyal isn't enough to be selected. The most important for the Olympics is to be good the year of the event. For exemple, this year, in athletics Jean Galfione (pole vault) Olympic champion 1996 isn' t qualify, in swimming, Roxana Maracineanu, world champion isn' t qualify and that simply " normal ", they aren' t good this year.
Sandrine Testud is consequently not et her place in Athens Olympics. Tatiana Golovin deserved it .....

Go Mary Pierce :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: !!!!!

I think Sandrine is still a good player. She showed this year that she can play when she lost against the world number 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne in a tough match 6:4 6:4 which she could have won . And she reached the semifinals at the French in Doubles. Tell me, I can't remember did Tatiana beat Venus, Serena or Lindsay or Capriati or Monica Seles or or or - like Sandrine did???
I am convinced that Sandrine is going to win some matches at the olympics!!!

:worship: Sandrine rules!!! We love you in America and in Germany... Best regards davidmario
 to all who don't think so

I'm all in favor of protected rankings when it comes to entering WTA tournaments, Grand Slams etc. but they have no place in the Olympic selection, especially not when France had decided not to include Sandrine in their Olympic squad. This way it all gets to be a terrible mess. :(
