Elena still looks very thin. But she seems to be playing well.:)

Jul 29th, 2004, 03:38 AM
yep lena is playing well right now at san diego...hope this is a sign of good things to come...just hope that she would be healthy....always ;) :)

goldenlox - i can't believe elena doesn't have a clothing deal...granted she's not as popular as maria but with her height and looks she would look really good on those nike/adidas outfits...it seemed so unfair

i love that hat!!! the way she wears it is so unique :)

Jul 29th, 2004, 05:26 AM
For the rather pedestrian year Lena's been having, combined with San Diego only being her 11th tournament of the year...

Lena will be in the Top 35 in the race after San Diego.

Jul 29th, 2004, 06:01 AM
No clothing deal. But only a few players make big bucks from endorsements.

Jul 30th, 2004, 12:48 AM
Udachi Lena Bovina :D

Goodluck

Jul 30th, 2004, 02:59 AM
i hope she wins!!!! :bounce:

Jul 30th, 2004, 03:58 AM
didn't she have one with Nike? Maybe she's just renegotiating.
It doesn't make any sense for a top 20 player with her game/looks/prospects not to have a clothing deal

Jul 30th, 2004, 05:37 AM
Serena won 6-4, 6-2. Lena played well. But she can do even better.

Next for Bovina is Washington. The GL jinx strikes again! Elena has a great opportunity to go a long way in New Haven and she needs to take advantage of the draw opening up for her.

Aug 25th, 2004, 03:37 PM
I hope I jinx Lena right to the championship.
Anne Worcester should have built the tournament around all the quality Russian players. Not just one.
Last year Maria lost her first match in Toronto, and in the second round of the US Open. She's very beatable on this surface.

Maria should be better on hard courts because she has grown up playing on hard courts at Bollettieri's.

Excellent picture! :D Maybe IMG will start to market Elena now. She is articulate and attractive so she does have marketing potential.

Articulate? She may be in Russian, since I know her English isn't perfect.

I guess you know, you haven't seen Lena's interviews, you know, on ESPN, I mean, this week. Nor, her speech during the winner's ceremony. :p

"It was like that Nelly song, you know. It's getting hot in here! Hot in! Hot in!"

Bless the dear for trying... that's why I love her. :)

Is that tennEESE or Tennessee? ;) :p Lena is likable and loaded with game. :D I wonder what Lena could really do on the WTA Tour if she stayed healthy for a couple of years. I think she could at the very least make the top 10 and make a grand slam semifinal, too. :)
