Yes, I miss Amanda tons. Some of the most beautiful groundstrokes on tour, IMO. And her foot speed was really amazing. A true grinder to the end.

And I don't think she suffered from depression.. at time it was said that she suffered fro chronic fatigue... not sure if that's the same as depression... don't think so though.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is caused by a virus and has nothing to do with depression. However, people who develop CFS invariably become depressed because they feel they no longer have a life.

For years, doctors mistakenly thought CFS was caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, but now they know it is a separate virus. There are various treatments for CFS, most of them only moderately successful. There are some excellent treatment centers in California, however.

Did the tour ever give Amanda a farewell? Or some recognition upon her retirement?

Not really coz she kinda retired mid year, and they didn't know she was gonna retire, and I think she didn't play the last year there anyway coz Wayne had already retired...

For years, doctors mistakenly thought CFS was caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, but now they know it is a separate virus. There are various treatments for CFS, most of them only moderately successful. There are some excellent treatment centers in California, however.

No one is certain about what causes CFS. The symptoms may be caused by an immune system that isn't working well. Or they may be caused by some kind of virus. Researchers are looking for the cause of CFS. No firm association between infection with any known human pathogen and CFS has been established.

================================================== ========
I don't really miss Amanda since I found her playing style rather boring but of course I wish her all the best and hope she'll feel better soon if she has CFS.
