Still not out of the race to make the US-Open Qual.Don't know what's better to make it to the US-Open Qual or not to make it and play the Russian tournaments during the US-Open.

Ekaterina made it in the 50 K. from the Qual to the 2nd round. Very good for her that you have the 2 new added 25 K's in Russia. A SF and QF will do to make it to the Aus-Open Qual, unless for the remainder of the season she's first round exit after first round what's not to be expected.
Good luck in the next round. A good result puts her less under pressure.

Good news she's on the Moscow 25 K. list

Possibly the first 3/4 seeds are going to withdraw. A few players what's on the cards will withdraw from the US-Open Main Draw/Qual. There's a chance for Nina and Ekaterina to have a very good tournament. If both are on the opposite half of draw and reach the final. Unless first round exits one after another the Aus-Open Qual are guaranteed.

She plays Moscow 25 K. This week.
This is her draw :(
5-Ekaterina Bychkova RUS vs WC Ekaterina Kosminskaya RUS
Tina Schiechtl AUT vs Melanie Marois CAN
q-Olena Antypina UKR vs Maria Goloviznina RUS
Anna Bastrikova RUS vs 4-Nina Bratchikova RUS ( @draw)

Bad draw for the Russians and this draw I am afraid does't bring the Russian players closer to the Aus-Open Qual top 250/500 ect. Hopefully one will take adv. from this terrible draw

do you want me to post some pictures of her I took during the Multisport Cup (Moscow 25K)?Of course, know she's some temperament.

Nina_rus
Sep 9th, 2004, 04:07 PM
her on-court behavour is pretty sad. In the semi-final match, she was up a set, a break, and something like 30-0, she then lost a point and started going mad- screaming, swearing, throwing balls and the racket around. She looks at her mom-coach and starts winding herself up even more. It's crazy. Absolutely unnecessary.
I didn't see her play against Dzehalevich, when she lost to her in Balashikha, I was watching another match, but those who did said there was a lot of crying...

Another thing- she warmed up with her mom all the time, who could barely hit the ball over the net!

I was unable to go and see her play last week at Belgrade challenger (I have flu), but I read some match reports, and apparently in the final against Nemeth she got extremely upset as the match went on, even in the 3rd set she had 2 game points to go up 3-2, but she was very nervous and erratic and didn't use them. She blew Nemeth off the court in the first set, but then Virag started to fight harder and get more balls back and Katya wasn't able to respond.

I watched the match and its true that Kuz played pretty badly ,she has very little game these days at all ,but Katya was ice cool ,and didnt panic ,impressive ,and I rather liked her game ,in fact it reminded me of a less powerful Dementieva without the thunderous forehands but with a better serve ,she did well ,good mover ,and kept the ball playing ,let kuz have to make more than 5 hits and she makes a corking UE ..
