Well Oblizer is number 135, so that is where Kirsten wants to be, If Kirsten plays her best I think she has a shot, Oblizer beat Vierin 6-3 1-6 7-5 in April and Kirsten just beat her in straight:) Obziler though is a lot older than Kirsten, so has a lot more experience but as I said Kirsen has no pressure in this match her opponent is expected to win.

And they have never played, I looked that one up:p

This win should take Kirsten into the top 300 for the first time:bounce:

She has won 16.5 points according to my calculations, 12.5 round points and 4 bonus points. Her rank will be +/- 287 as she will have 86.5 points but as I don't know what the players ranked around there are doing, I'm not sure exactly where she will go. Qallifying would do excellent things for the ranking:p But I'm not going to get ahead of myself yet.

I think she only gets 2 bonus points. Bonus points are normally doubled in Gran Slam but I think not in Gran Slam qualies.
Still, this should let her break into top300.

There were two former Junior Wimbledon Champions in action today in the ladies’ singles and both showed good form to progress to the second round of Ladies’ Qualifying. Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium, last year’s junior girls' champion at Wimbledon, beat Nathalie Vierin of Italy (ranked 138 places above her at 178), 6-0, 6-4.

Vierin twice required attention from the trainer in the first set and had her left ankle strapped. However, she gave 18-year-old Flipkens a stronger challenge in the second set and when the Belgian served for the match, Vierin fought off two match points, held three break point, and was beaten when she put a backhand out on the third match point. Meanwhile, the 2001 girls’ singles champion, Angelique Widjaja of Indonesia progressed with a more comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win over Alena Vaskova of the Czech Republic.

Ashley Out at Eastbourne

Ashley played Eastbourne for the first time and didn't fair too well, losing to Jie Zheng, one and one. Zheng has been on a roll and Ashley hasn't played much since parting ways with her coach a couple of months ago. Zheng however was only playing $25K's this time last year. Ashley doesn't like grass much either, even though she was once seeded number one on the grass as a junior.

As of now it appears Ashley is into the main draw of Wimbledon. That's the good news. The bad news is one quick match on grass beforehand. Ashley needs to probably win a couple of rounds to reignite her game. That will be a tough challenge for her on the grass. This is a time when Ashley needs to step up and help her own career. Let's hope she can do just exactly that this year in London.
