Evie is now ranked at 259 and will presumably drop a few more after defending Birmingham Rnd 1 last year. Is this ranking high enough to reach the qualifying draw at Wimbledon? If not, is she able to get a qualifying wild card?
It is a bit sad how her ranking has dropped so rapidly and now plays Challengers instead of WTAs. I guess a year is a long time but it doesn't seem that long ago when she beat Benesova 60 61 and pushed V Williams in the 2nd Rnd of French Open. In fairness, since then I think she has struggled with 2 different injuries/illnesses and had 3 different coaches.
On the last thread it was said that Evie is just plain fed up with travelling. You would think this would have an adverse effect on her game, especially someone as temperamental as her. I hope she hasn't lost motivation but if she has maybe she should take a break? Maybe she's just recovering from injury as she injured her foot in practice last week?

i think when the commitment list was done evie made the cut because at that time she was like 190 or something and once your in you can't be knocked out off the qualies list if your ranking drops after the initial entry deadline date (well.. im pretty sure thats how it works), so i think christina will also get in this way.
No way will she get a wildcard

Tennis Australia didnt do that deal again with LTA this year, god knows why they keep it with the french and not wimbledon, then again thats tA for ya.
Would have been good to see Sophie get a Wimbledon Wildcard as well

Why would you have the Wimbledon entry rankings based on rankings BEFORE the French Open finishes?
Anyway, Evie plays 205 ranked Ting Li (CHN) in 1st Rnd qualifying tonight.

Entries are always about 6 weeks before a tournament begins...so Evie was always in becuase she was ranked in the top 200 before RG finished.
She can kiss the US Open qualies goodbye however...as she is ranked 289 at the moment. Christina Wheeler (242) is also in danger of missing out. When was the last time we had NO Aussies the qualy field for a Slam? :o
I think Evie will get smoked by Ting Li who has had some decent results this year.
