I did not see her earlier rounds but I have never seen Dementieva play better than she did in the quarter final. In fact leaving aside the serve I have rarely seen any player produce such a sustained display of powerful hitting. If she can produce anything like a similar level she should comfortably dispose of Suarez and prove more than a match for the winner of the second semi final. Given her all court game it is a real shame about the serve because an improvement in that area would on this evidence see her challenging any of the leading players.
