I know it is still early, but I was just wondering whether you think Venus will get to her 5th straight Wimbledon final. And will she win it? It'll be a great achievement for her if she does! :bounce:

And who are the other players in history who have made appeared in the final of the same GS for at least 5 years, I know Martina Hingis has at the Australian Open.

Yes, and she will win. Without injury, she has 3 of the last 4 titles ;)

I think she has a good chance as about 10 other women in the field. Recent results at this slam would indicate that she's almost a lock for a SF spot, at least. :)

In the Open Era:

Australian Open
Evonne Goolagong (6) 1971-1976 *
Martina Hingis (6) 1997-2002

French Open
No player has reached five consecutive French Open finals in the Open Era.
Chris Evert (4) 1983-1986
Steffi Graf (4) 1987-1990

Wimbledon
Martina Navratilova (9) 1982-1990
Chris Evert (5) 1978-1982

US Open
Chris Evert (6) 1975-1980
Martina Navratilova (5) 1983-1987

* The Australian Open was played twice in 1977, once in January and again in December. Goolagong played and won the December 1977 Open, but she missed the January event due to pregnancy, so her appearance in the 1977 (D) final doesn't count as a seventh successive final.

The sisters will be back @ wimbledon, and blow everyone away IMO, they will be out to prove everyone wrong.

And Myskina will never beat them again after that comment she made about them. :)

re-read what I wrote. "Barring injury...she has 3 of the last 4 titles" ;) Even Serena was smart enough to realize that

oh i read what you wrote. but Injury (what is her first name, anyway?) isn't in the record books.

re Serena and smart. all i have to say is, ask her what a hypochondriac is :)

which, oddly enough, hasn't been a factor since she got serious about winning

No pretend to have a medical issue every time she loses, or give that as an excuse as Serena did in 2001, before US Open anyways ;)

I think she has a bit more chance than 10 other women in the field.
I would say she and Serena are the only TOPfavourites on grass, unless Martina Navratilova get's a wildcard of course ;)

how about YOU stop pretending she has a medical issue every time she loses, or whatever the hell you keep regurgitating everytime the result isn't favourable, k? :)

Aaahh.....the Venus-fans. Always with their excuses. With or without injuries, the record-books still say: 2 wimbledon titles for Venus and 2 for Serena....nothing´s gonna change that.

Not sure. I think Serena, Justine, Jen, Lindsay Amelie & Kim all have the ability to take her out before the final but that doesn't necessarily mean that they will. Without seeing the draw, it's difficult to say, but if I had to put money on it, I'd say she'll lose in the SF.

I never say Serena has a medical issue unless Serena says.

Once again, a 100% healthy, a 100% determined and a 100% aggressive Venus is unbeatable ;)

Have a good day

Q. You said she obviously was playing the best up to these finals. Do you think the results would have been different if she was 100 percent? Would you have had to raise your level to cope with that?

SERENA WILLIAMS: Well, I think the way I played today and the way Venus was playing, I think definitely she would have been the Wimbledon champ this year.

Well....Serena is still the sister who´s given the worst beating among the two. Venus never had a 6-2 6-2 against Serena.

We don't know who would win near their best because they've never played near their best against each other.

The best I've seen Venus play against a red hot opponent was the 01 Acura Classic against Monica

37 Winners 13 aces 14 ue's

I can't see anyone beating her when she puts up those type of numbers. Has she ever lost a match where she had fewer than 20 ue's?
