While Anna was higher ranked in doubles (than in singles) she was never called a doubles specialist.

Oi. I couldn't agree more. When Dick (or whoever it was) called her a doubles specialist, I wanted to get on the air and tell him that she is #14 in the world in singles and a two-time GS quarterfinalist in singles... and now a semifinalist!!!!

well she's more specialized in doubles, seeing as though she wins the big doubles events, ranked #1, but doesn't win the big singles tournament. So calling her a "doubles specialist" isn't so far off, but she can still play very well in singles events;)
