I'm surprised Venus is playing here.

I mean, Wimbledon, then Fed Cup, then BOWC.

I expect her to then take a week off, then play in San Diego or Canada, then off to the Olympics.

I doubt she'll play both San Diego and Canada, it would probably be better if she play Canada, but Venus loves San Diego.

I think this would be a nice place for Kim's comeback:)

I'M GOING!! I'M GOING!! :woohoo:

If they give out more than one free pass, I hope it goes to Raquel Kops-Jones of Cal. ;)

Since the tournament organizers are more than likely Stanford grads, you're probably right..... :fiery:

Venus won't play Canada. Serena does.

Interesting that the draw is still strong even if it isn't exactly in the best place in the calendar.
That was true up until last year, when Venus entered the event, and Serena didn't, although she withdrew anyways.

Someone said previously that the second round of Fed Cupb between Austria and the US is going to be played in Austria. Since the tie is the weekend before Bank of the West, it is unlikely Venus would play in Fed Cup.

Even if they did give a main draw WC to Rocky, she would be behind Marissa and Laura Granville.

VERY suprised NOT to see Dokic in the commitments....

maybe she's going to take a few weeks off after Wimbledon for a break??? Re-ignite the fire maybe?

Well, i hope so...she does need a few weeks off! Or maybe she is just cutting back on the tournaments finally?

Or maybe she'll just enter late? ;) lol

Jelena will be entering lower tiered events after Wimbledon in order to build up her confidence and try out new things with her game.
