Silvia was unlucky not to break at 4-4, Serena seemed to be having trouble on her serve.

Goood job both players, Serena seems to be getting better with every match, and with all these seeds dropping out, you have to pick her or Venus for the championship atm.

Good to see Serena "taking advantage" of her draw ;)

Congrats Serena...but 9 doubles is a lot. I don't think I've ever seen her with that many? Knizzle, how many aces did she have?

Well, leave the jokes for when you talk about Venus...

serena was making me nervous during the 2nd set. she seemed to be letting silvija back into the match and her serving was not always reliable. she won't be able to get away with this with a better player. still, on the next round...

once again you have to start the entire Venus/Serena thing. I'm out. I'm not going through this AGAIN because you are obsessed.

As you wish....but you really stop to make snide comments about Serena. Taking advantage of the draw?! What´s that supposed to mean?!

It was a JOKE! Hence all the smilies. Lighten up. Get a hobby. Have some fun. Laugh a little. I thought it was obviously when I posted the "Who saw this coming?" Obviously humor falls on some

Serena is still trying to find her game, but it's good for her she's able to win even when not at her best.
Talaja is a very talented player, but, unfortunately, her career has been marked with injuries. It was nice to see ha+er in the 3rd round, playing well, even today in the 2nd set, she might have even won it. Good luck to her, these are her last years on Tour, I think.

Williams had a 5-0 lead after 16 minutes despite five double-faults. She finished with nine but dominated with her return, breaking serve six times.

``I predominantly don't hit nine doubles in a tournament, let alone a match,'' Williams said. ``It was weird.''

Talaja won only three points on her serve in the first set, but Williams' play became ragged after she took a 6-0, 2-0 lead. Williams said she lost concentration, which sometimes happens to her.

``I'm thinking about other things,'' she said. ``I'll think of crazy stuff, like what I'm going to eat tonight.''

Serena is hilarious!! :haha:

Serena was playing amazingly well in the first set. I only saw it from 3-0 on, but she was hitting some great winners. The second set was...more of what we've seen from Serena this year. More of the first set play, Serena, please!

Talaja is awful. One of the hardest players to watch play a top player. She was lucky to get 4 games.

talaja only plays aggressive is she can stay even with someone. i still remember her giving hingis a run for her money in berlin in a very tight match. she was pretty passive today tho... terrible first set. she has to work on her forehand

Wow, what I saw was a comedy of errors. I've seen a higher quality of play in A level club tournaments. Serena was WAY off her form, and Talaja was laughable.
Sorry to be harsh, but this match was U G L Y.
