Henin and Ferrero both out in the second round
Agassi/Roddick lose early to qualifiers
Raymond comes back from 0-6 0-5 0-30 to win in three
Santoro wins the longest match in the open era
Top players on both the men's and women's sides struggle
Rising stars such as Sprem, Golovin, and Safina all lose early
Foretz def. Dechy saving match points and then Talaja def. Foretz saving match points

add this to the list: Safin takes off his shorts in front of the crowd during his match today!! He got a point penalty for it, but he had everyone laughing.

I don't think Marat took his shorts off Felix did. i remember cause he was serving and it was 0-15.

And yes this is one of the weirdest grand slams i've seen.

Also add Navratilova's comeback that featured a really big age gap between players (maybe one of the largest ever)

It's been a weird tennis season all around. Last year's top 4 players haven't all been healthy at the same time even once this year :o

It's a real wacky RG. Did anyone see Fabrice Santoro and Tatiana Garbin
making headlines and breaking records? They're now official trivia
pursuit quiz answers! :rolls: They might even get into JEOPARDY. :p

What about Shinobu Asagoe and Jie Zheng in the 3rd round?

My tennis neutrals friends are even interested in the draw now
They now look forward to the "teary eyed" press
conference clips on CNN World Sport with the sort of
odd fascination people have with looking at car accidents. :tape:
