I realize that she's had a great lead-up, and is playing very well. I also realize that Lindsay Davenport is no one's top bet to win this. But does no one realize that Lindsay OWNS Amelie? She hasn't lost a SET to her in the past four matches they've played--two this year, and the last one on CLAY!!!!! Yet no one in the press mentions this, they just keep saying "Amelie to the final!" I think Lindsay deserves a little more respect.

GO LINDSAY!!!! TAKE THE TITLE AND LIFETIME GRAND SLAM!!!!!

Sigh. I say this but no one listens.

Lindsay has not lost a set to Amelie in their last 5 matches, and has won seven of the last eight meetings. Lindsay has turned the tables on Amelie, and Momo is a headcase in Paris. I think if they met Lindsay would probably win.

Looking at those numbers, Amelie has no chance....but sometimes things happen :)

you're right, it's very possible. Amelie is playing great right now, and she loves clay. My only point is that it doesn't make sense to write off a player who consitantly beats her on all surfaces.

To overlook anyone in this year's FO is dangerous. It is possible that Momo or lindsay could get knocked out before they meet each other.

i think mauresmo will beat davenport (unfortunately) but she will not win the french open, not this year

as for 'no obstacles' :cuckoo:

As all of Momo's fans keep saying, that's a BIG obstacle and it's not an easy draw for Momo.

Whats the clay court head to head between the two, also were the straight sets or no?

Andrew.

They've played on clay twice. Back in Berlin 98, Momo won in straight sets. At Amelia Island, Lindsay won in straights.

Davenport owns Momo, plus there are a couple of strong Russians (Vera, Nadia) that could also know out Momo.

This French Open is just too weird to make any predictions; red clay is SO much different than green clay. I also hope Lindsay will beat Amelie, if they both make it there, and have a good shot at making the finals...what a day it would be if Lindsay would win the final!

Davenport and Dementieva have both beaten her, and Smashnova had a very close match with her last year. Any of those three could take her out on a nervy day.

for those who think Lindsay will beat MoMo, thankyou :worship: geesh now some people are finally listening, Lindsay owns MoMo, and add the pressure of the paris crowd wanting her to win, she'll lose it mentally if they play, lets go Lindsay and off you go to the final!
