Anna wins her first match handily, 6-1 6-4. :D

She better not lose a third time to the schoolgirl. :(

Well done Anna. :) :yeah:

I think she will be able to beat Tatiana.

On another happy note, Tzipora Obziler has made the main draw as a Lucky Loser and will play Shenay Perry in the first round tomorrow. :)

Yes, Golovin DID lose and Anna will play Koukalova :) Koukalova is good, but Anna has an excellent record against her, if my memory is correct.
I really hope Anna makes it to the 4th round (she's never done that in a slam has she?). She could play Dementieva in the 3rd round if both win; and Dementieva hasn't been playing too well. On the other hand, Anna has :bounce:
Good luck, Anna!

Anna did make it to the 4th round in a slam (and even in the Roland garros) both in 1995 and in 1998.

And not on a very happy note, Tzipi lost today to Shenay Perry in the first round

Anna won 6-1 7-5! most likely to face Demented in next round who leads 6-2,5-0 against Prick

Thanks, Oren :wavey: But that was a long time ago and I want Anna to make the 4th round again, even the quarters.

Well its been a great week but it sadly is over with

Anna was forced to retire ,due to cramps, when she was leading 6-0,6-7,1-0

We know Anna would have pulled this out .. but for the ones who watched her on tv .. it was hard to even watch she was in so much pain

Man, to retire when you are AHEAD is pretty rare. But I've seen Anna cramp up a few times. She was demolishing Tatiana Golovin in Paris earlier this year and had to retire due to cramps. And couldn't finish off Vera Zvonareva in a match last year because of her cramps. What's up with that?

 :( She won 8 games in a row to be 6-0, 2-0 up. I'm so sad because it's yet another case of so close yet so far. :tears: Hopefully Anna will recover well.

it was predicted that it will end bad
anna always dominate the first set and then her opponment (sth like that) learn how to handle her style of game and take the 2 & 3 set :[
