Don't rule out Wimbledon singles for Navratilova
Martina: Not the plan but 'I never make predictions' (http://www.********************/member/actCheck.cfm?goto=news_051204.html)

Nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova says she has no immediate plans to play singles at Wimbledon this summer, but won't completely rule out a return. The 47-year-old played two singles tournaments in April and plans to increase her singles play because she feels that it aids her doubles.

"You don't want to say there is a hope, because then people will blow it out of proportion," Navratilova told ********************. "At the moment, there is no plan, but anything is possible. I never say never." (http://www.********************/member/actCheck.cfm?goto=news_051204.html)

At least that would be less embarrasing than the RG wildcard

seriously, if she wants to play wimbledon - fine, she could win a match on grass against a claycourter for sure. but why play rg where she will get her butt kicked in the first round???

Yeah, it'd completely ridiculous if Navratilova plays 3 clay court tournaments, and then decides not to play wimbledon or any other grass court tournaments.

grass is her best oppurtunity to win a match. so she'd be quite dumb to not play.
