Mary has a chronic wound in the back for about a month now.

That is why Mary can't play good all the time, after about 30 minutes of games Mary's back is hurting...

Mary still has some years to play so don't worry, she will get over it like she did in the past !!

I am really sorry to hear that. But this is starting to get on my nerves.
I know that she can't di anything about it but it feels hopeless.

I undestand very well what you are feeling but Mary is not the only one, just look a little bit closer ;) Serena, Venus, Lindsay, Jennifer, Amelie... they all have severals things in commun, they are all champions and they all have chronic wound.

Hi! Where did you find this information? Is it reliable? With the restricted coverage of Mary by the media it is hard to tell if the situation really is as you describe it because Mary is still playing doubles & singles. I wonder if that is the case. If it is an injury, then will she be treated? How could she possibly continue to play with a chronic back injury, it sounds unlikely to me.

People have said recently Mary is not fit. Well, look at the pictures in Paris and the more recent ones with her babyblue dress. To be honest, I think Mary has lost more than 15 pounds (easily) since March. Perhaps her body is just adjusting.

Thanks for the alternative information. Let's hope we can all continue to find more on this issue that is driving us all insane. I wish we could talk to Mary or that she had some sort of conversation with fans through websites like other players do.

Hi,

I am so sorry to hear that Mary has yet another injury. We all know how hard Mary has been working of late and had it not been for this injury, Mary would have probably been doing as well as she did in Paris earlier this year -- if not better! It must be so tough on her... I just hope Mary is somehow able to recover by May 24.

I don't know what is worse between the back thing or the shape problem.
:sad: they're both shorten her career.

personally I think Mary right now is very weak mentally.
Since Paris she might thinks that everything's on thier way "I've got it back"
or all those stuffs. but then a few bad loss starting to hurt her.
then she can not regroup.

look at the match with dulko, in the first set she's totaly destroy her.
but then it was like she get nervous again.

but that's only my opinion

well, if it's true, i think she shouldn't play doubles...
but i think her problem is the lack of self-confidence. besides, she's worried about hurting again, and couldn't concentrate in her game.

Hello Ash,

I have to agree with what you said. I would suggest that Mary would see a specialist about her back if it is the problem.

I feel so sorry for Mary and the injurys she gets always at the wrong times. Well getting an injury at any time is not good.

I read this information in a french sport newspaper.

I bet Mary is going to RG next week to be treated by french doctors like she's doing when she's injured. The french staff will take care of her as usual :bounce:

She needs to get use to RG's clay...

By the way I didn't actually say Mary was discouraged, but that I hope she's not... according to the article she is quite disappointed, though. Mary feels she's been practising too much and not playing enough tournaments which she finds very frustrating. On a positive note she concludes by saying she is looking forward to playing more tournaments as of this summer.

I was pretty happy at first ,that Mary is going to be seeded at the FO.. but getting a lower seed means she'll probably have to face a top 4 seed in the third round. Not good! :(

it's right, she can play henin, mauresmo, serena or venus ont the third but she also can meet the 5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16 seed !
Dementieva, Myskina, Zvonareva, Sugiyama, Rubin ... are not unbeatable !

But, first, to win the first match because in Charleston and in Berlin :tape:

Unfortunatly if Mary play the same tennis than in the past few weeks she won't do a great FO...:sad: not that i'm hoping her to do wrong but let be realistic...:sad: Mary has to be back at her open Gaz de France and Amelia Island level to be sure of doing a great tournament and i think that she can reach that level in a week:worship: with one or two easy first round..she could be a girl to beat in Paris...

emm...I would love to see Mary shine in RG this year...but I'm not expecting anything...especially in her form like this...


So I hope that Mary will take everything match by match...and try to relax into her form...give her best...and let winning and losing take care of itself...:D
