I voted for Amelie because I think she played the best overall this week, and her win against Capriati was amazing.

Venus deserves it :bounce:

I think all of these ladies did amazing. I always cheer Venus on...but this week, I must give props to K-Lina! She delivered more than I could've imagined and therefore, gets my recognition!!!

Venus, because she fought thru injury and being down 3-0 to beat K-Lina, who was playing out of her mind :)

Amelie showed the best tennis this week in that SF, by some way.

However... I'd like to see any of the other women play and win as many matches as Ana Ivanovic did in such a short space of time. Last week, she played three qualifying and five main draw matches to win the Gifu challenger... then without any rest, she won another three qualifying matches and another five main draw matches this week to win Fukuoka. That's SIXTEEN MATCHES in sixteen days. Along the way, she double bagelled the first top 50 player she'd ever played. A fortnight ago, she was ranked in the 480s... now she's just inside that top 200.

Yeah, Ana played mostly scrubs in comparison with the other ladies... but she deserves her props. The most impressive achievements aren't necessarily the same as the most high profile ones.

cool bird

Well i voted for Venus just becuses i think yesterdays S/F was one of the best matches of the year. And i had to vote for the winner. Plus As a venus fan have been really impressed, with not just her play but mentaly as well.

I was torn between Sprem and Williams...Venus has been on a tear since her tourny win in Charleston, Sprem played really gutsy, but she lost...if she would've won, there would be no debating.

Amélie (with Karolina a very close second for her amazing performance  against Venus in the semi of Berlin!)

Mauresmo :bounce:

K-Lina definately, that was just a fabulous run she had.

Runner up for me would be Jen Cap, she had a fabulous week comparative to the past few months

K-Lina ;)

She deserved to win the SF match, and I really doubt if Momo would stop her in the final.

I voted for Ivanovic

Yes, it's a different league, but she is dominating hers completely, like Sprem was last year, only she's younger. She is U N D E F E A T E D and DOUBLE BAGELLED the no43 in the world; in the few 3 setters she had, she has come back from 1-5 and 2-5 in the 3rd to defeat the few players that offer her resistance :armed:

Who knows, maybe in a year we'll have Ana Ivanovic battling it out with Venus in the semis of the German Open ;)
