What are you studying at University?

I am doing History!
I love Cold War History esp. Eastern Europe and the post-Communist "reconstruction" of Europe.

Yes, I may not find a job ( ) but I plan to take my studies beyond the "BA" (grad school, Phd (if I will be good enough ;) :p )).

What are you guys studying at "University"
I have noticed there are a lot of 19-24 year olds on this board

I love history :hearts: :bounce: :worship:. It was after doing an essay for our Religious history courses that I became Buddhist. I did my History Diploma :hearts:, and now I'm 3 exams away from my Law Degree. On the 18th of May I will be liberated :bounce:, although I'll be sad, cause I'll miss all my friends and stuff :sobbing:.

PhD in Classics. (well, my thesis is on St. Augustine's philosophy of language so it's classics/philosophy/theology really, but I'm in the classics department.)Good luck saki, your studies seem very interesting. A good friend of mine recently completed her PhD in Medieval philosophy and her thesis was about where the soul was located. She concluded that according to Medieval philosophy the soul can only be located in the brain. Of course, I've probably debased her three years of study into a totally inaccurate summary :o I cannot answer as the thread excludes graduates.

I will be attending PennState University and pursuing at double major in: Meteorology (Option in Broadcasting) and Spanish (Option in HS Education).

After finishing this, if the job market does not look too good then I'll take up my uncle on his offer and I will try to acquire an MBA from Harvard or PSU or GW.

...of course...I first have to find a way to pay all of this, because somehow I think my job at the Dollar Store and at my uncle's restaurant is not going to pay for it all. hahaha :)

Thanks. A friend of mine also did a thesis on the soul - but on its relationship to contemporary philosophy of mind. I think that's all really interesting but I couldn't think of an original take on it whereas the stuff I'm doing has (I flatter myself) the potential to be really incisive. Well, incisive in my tiny field... ;)

Applied Maths.....I did a year in that. ODE and PDE did my head in and had to give up as I had lost interest in Maths in general after a year. I guess it's slightly more interesting with Applied Physics....

Computers (content-oriented; it's more like "visual media arts").

Though I just looked through all my grades the other day and found that I did much, much better in writing-oriented classes than in production classes. I'm beginning to wonder if I should've studied literature, creative writing or journalism instead.

I transferred to a communications school from a big university that had no communications department (and after a couple of years of working). I tried History and Psychology first. But the problem for me with history is that I didn't feel motivated to write papers on things people have written tons of papers on before.

the program that I was in "before" was environmental management (ala Env. Science with a Social Science Emphasis :p )
I'm studying less about environmental management and more on political ecology and developmental studies in Third World countries (hence the geography minor). At my uni we actually have a major called conservation and resource studies...so that's more of environmental management.

My classes, even though I'm social science emphasis, are very science oriented. For example, analysis of environmental data (upper level statistics) and modeling and management of biological resources...its not as fluffy as most people would think. We're basically pre-med, save a few classes.
