View Full Version : Henin-H Vs Safina...

Henin took the first set 6-4, but Dinara has a break in the second set up 3-1! Go Dinara.

The young Russian's may prove to be Henin's nemesis!! :bounce:

Calm down.

Christine always stinks in the early rounds.

She'll find a way to win the important points of the set... like she always does.

I like Juju, but I'd love 2C Coach Choudury's Pupil Pull off the big upset. Dava, Sister Safina!

Almalyk

Henin-H broke back, for 2-3, but then Safina broke her again.

Henin-H has a lot of double faults, I think maybe three in that last game as well! :bounce:

Apr 7th, 2004, 12:38 AM
Justine broke back to close it to a 3-2 Dinara lead, but Dinara broke back and now leads 4-2..

Maybe Justine did the right thing by not playing in Miami because she is struggling early on clay. Mary Pierce didn't have this much trouble with Meghann and Meghann is ranked higher than Dinara.

BTW, Justine is up 40-15 on Dinara's serve so I wouldn't be surprised if she broke back again.

lizchris
Apr 7th, 2004, 12:41 AM
Justine broke back so Dinara's lead is now 4-3.

If Justine can hold her serve in this game, I think she will win the match.

I'm rather surprised. Has Dinara ever taken more than 4 games off one of the former top 4, namely Serena, Vee, Justine, Kim?

Justine is playing badly of course, she's served 10 double faults already. And she's seriously struggling to hold serve. Lucky for her Dinara is not capitalizing on her opportunities.

I expect her to win, and I don't expect this performance to set the stage for the rest of her tournament.

I hate it when Justine plays so poorly in the early rounds and then always seems to play her best against my Lindsay, how frustrating. Right now, Justine has 11 double faults a -20 differential. Ouch.

This reminds me of Venus playing here in 2001. In most of her matches she couldn't hold her serve, neither could her opponents, especially Suarez whom I'd expected to beat her, and Myskina, whom I didn't.

Well, I see that Justine is still struggling to stay in this match. She was up 5-4 and serving for the match and couldn't hold serve. She is lucky she's playing who she is playing or else she would have lost the match by now.

BTW, 2nd set tiebreak.

And another BTW, if she keep playing like this during the tournament, as I expect her to win this match, she is isn't going to win a third stright year.

I am not surprised. The Cheatah often sprays the balls and struggles in the first rounds. Once she settles she'll be rock steady. Epecially when changing the surface..

Like 2003:

1R Dubai. Henin def Barna 1-6, 6-2, 6-4

then proceeded to win it beating Myskina, Capriati, Seles

Charleston

1R Henin def Pisnik 6:4, 3:6, 6:4
2R Henin def Dechy 2-6, 6:3, 6:2

Then proceeded to win the whole things easily beating Pierce, Harkleroad and Serena.
