Ok, so I am greedy, after not seeing SERENA in action for nearly a year, I want her to really make a statement, so I would like for her to take the B&L title next week as well.

Of course Justine will be there and I know that she has been working her little waffle making ass off now that the WILLIAMS are back on the scene and SERENA is at nearly full power as well.

It will be interesting to see if the Princess can continue to own Big Davey and if Momo or Dementieva can give the false #1 any real competition.

I look to see SERENA in the finals next week and getting the title, if she wins the first set, otherwise, someone will have to go three sets to take out the Princess of Power and get that B&L title.

Its gonna be tough with justine being there, i dont think she will have many problems with anyone else. Possibly peirce in the 2nd round, she reached the paris indoors, losing faily easily to Kim, she might give serena some trouble. Nadia could cause her some problems but depends on how she plays in the first couple of rounds and gets past davy. Lindsay might take advantage of serena's long break but it doesnt seem to have affected her all that much. I think she might lose the odd set to some of these players, but my money is on a Serena/ Justine final, and i really hope there is!!!

It┤s gonna be tough.....clay is still her weakest surface, although she can play on pretty much everything, but on clay you can expose Serena┤s weakness: lack of patience, more successfully.

Should be a real gauge to where Serena really is.

If she does, I hope she doesn't wear that outfit again:taped:
Wasn't she supposed to have a new outfit for the final?

It's going to be VERY tough for Serena since this is clay. I hope the surface change doesnt make her prone to re-injure.

she will because JHH will lose b4 the final match :)

I think Serena will really be tested at B&L.We all know clay is her worst surface. Henin and the other "clay specialists," are certainly going to push her buttons. Plus the top 10 who are playing, have something to prove to us for Serena's Nasdaq win. However,I wish Rena the best of luck.As long as she stays injury-free,she's 'in the game'.

I'm waiting with anticipation. Justine has both the serve and the groundstrokes, unlike Dementieva. She's also confident and good on the surface, and has been practicing on it for more than two weeks now. If Serena does get to play her, that will tell us a lot about Rena's form and standing.

I don't understand why you think that Serena has basically had no practise on clay. Of course the first surface Serena played on was clay! She couldn't have played on anything else because it would have been to much for her joints. Watch Serena win AI next week with only losing 1 set the whole week.

Why are you Williams fans acting like scared little girls!!!

Serena aint no joke. She wants to light those azzes up on clay.

No. She won't win. She won't make it to the final. I will laugh at the Williams fans now praising Serena as the rapture.

Better worry about Linds....Serena comes out of injury lay-off and already has matched Lindsay┤s title total for this year.

Besides....a bit of testing, never hurt anyone.

LOL @ people acting like Serena is so vulnerable on clay. Sure, it's her weakest surface, but in 2002 and 2003, how many people did she actually lose to on clay?

I would be suprised if Serena would make it two in a row. It's possible of course.

OUT!

A GS FO champion will always have a good chance on a clay surface IMO. Let's wait and see...

only reason I think she may not win is because she may run out of steam but it will be interesting to see who wins :bounce:

Justine has a 3-1 head to head on clay against Serena.

:wavey:Yeah, she should cringe every time she hears the words "Amelia" and "Williams" in the same sentence from the way she lost that title to Venus two years ago.:wavey:

I thought Venus and Serena are two separate individuals?? We're talking about Serena vs. Justine on clay and then, as if by magic, *Venus's* record morphs into the conversation! They really are one and the same! Totally interchangeable! Two peas from the same pod!! "If one system fails, we've got a backup, Captain!" "If my girls loses today, that's o.k. 'cause my (other) girl will win tomorrow..."

:haha:

:haha:Cute. I would imagine, though, that if you're able to bring up something that took place in over a year ago(which was kind unneccesary,by the way), I could throw her Sister into the mix. . . .LOL!!!!!:bounce:

I don't think that there's much to choose between Serena and Justine on clay - all of their matches have been very tight. I think I would give Justine the edge if they meet here just because she's more in practice but, really, Serena has a good chance to win this title too. If I were a bookmaker, I'd have Justine on 2/1 to win the title and Serena 2.5/1.

I think the bookmakers will put the odds on SERENA at this time despite her long time off the tour.

yep i agree with you, i mean its not like Justine has destroyed Serena on clay, and the only advantage Justine would have is that Serena still is just back, but i think Serena would be fine if she made the final beating good players along the way

The field is much tougher here and, obviously, it's on clay. I weould put Henin and (probably) Mauresmo as favorites ahead of her. I would really like to see Davenport vs. Serena in the semis, since it would be a great chance for Lindsay to beat a Williams again.

I agree and believe Serena needs more work on her forehand. Playing those girls is not like playing Justine, Kim, Jen, Lindsey. Of course, they have to play her too. Should be interesting. :bounce:

LOL@ Mykarma. Why do some people wait like vultures for either Willaims to suffer an occassional defeat?
