In my opinion this is the most exciting tournament we have had since last year's French Open. Only Kim, Venus and Myskina missing among the top players plus the return of Martina and Mary. :bounce:

You`ve forgotten Jennifer!!! :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery:

Don`t like the draw! The top half is the easier one IMO, Henin-Hardenne and Mauresmo, bottom half with Lindsay and Serena. This should have been the final...

I am excited to see a possible 2nd round match Petrova vs. Navratilova. Hope, Navratilova beats Brandi. Must be a horrible feeling to be Navratilova`s opponent... Noone wants to lose to her...

SERENA will CRUSH EVERYONE! Including the Number One Player in the World*

*only by default. Because Serena Williams was either "tired, cheated, injured...etc")

Hmm....nice test to see how far Serena really has come now. On clay, should be interesting.

I think Justine will win because she's probably the fittest player out there right now, especially for this first clay court tournament. However, as per last year, we might see another surprise winner. I can remember Lindsay playing so well here last year but who knows if she can bring that same game this year.

I kinda expect this one to be a little tough for Serena but if she can pace herself well and she's determined enough she just may pull it off. I still think she has a ways to go in getting back to the form she left in but based on the way she spanked Elena in the Miami final you can never count her out.

As an aside, it will great to see players like Momo back playing. I hope she stays healthy. What about Cappy? Isn't she defending SF points or something?

Vera will take out the #1 in the world, just to succumb to defending champion who then will avenge her nasdaq-100 final loss.

I think Justine will win. Mauresmo may be a little rusty, and we don't know whether her injury has fully healed. Serena has a really tough draw. It's just her second tournament back and she has to face (most likely) Pierce in the second round, not forgetting that clay isn't exactly her favourite surface.

A Justine-Serena final would be exciting, though.
