Elena D ... as she is my fav player. Jelena Dokic is my second fav. I think this would be a great win for Elena as she prepares for her title defense at AI. Play your best Elena and then raise your game beyond that.

 Lena D is taking out her frustration on Serena! This picture clearly shows her balling up her fist and hitting Serena in the stomach... I'm appalled! Go Lena!

Definitely Serena. It would be a great way to celebrate her return to tennis and give her loads of confidence for the next tournament. Serena all the way. I'm just sad that I'm a work and my department's television has been "borrowed" for some stupid meeting. I'll be following it via the live scoreboard.

Serena 150%!!!! Go Rena!!! Serena has vengece on her mind and will be out for blood against the "worst serving top 10 player in the history of women's tennis," as our local paper called Dementieva. After seeing how on Rena's serve was against Daniliidiou (can't spell that one) and how great she has performed considering her injury, this is a locke for her and will be great as a nice prize to start the comeback trail to glory. Serena wll wrap this up in straight sets, maybe 6-4, 6-2 or 6-3 6-1. WOHOOO I smell a title defense! :bounce:

Why Serena...the greatest player of her generation. By winning this title she will have quite a span of first slam to current. She won the US Open in 1999 and its 2009. Meanwhile, the other girls are all going for their first, and one of them is a veteran with zero. High drama indeed.

This poll was for Key Biscayne 2004? Who actually won?

As for today, I'm a Serena fan and will root for her to win the whole thing. If I knew Elena D could make good on a semi final victory and not lose the final to a fellow Russian, well, I'd like her to finally get a Grand Slam title too.

Elena usually changes after the second set. First set if it's extremely hot, but the roof is closed today, so yeah.

And they said Serena is 33-0 after winning the first set in Melbourne.

her play is not flawless. but that does not mean it's poor.

since elena lost the first set, i'd say she played that set poorly. serena won and did so in a fashion that is a lot better than her play throughout the tournament. she's playing crap tennis now though.

Oooh my mistake.
Geez that's pretty daunting odds, but if Dementieva remains solid and patient she'll win this set.
Unfortunately I think the only way she'll be able to really grab this match by the scruff is if Serena starts losing her head which she has done a bit this year but still won regardless.
Geez it must suck being a Serena fan sometimes lol.

im pretty neutral in this match, just hoping for a good one. maybe slightly leaning toward elena because i just think win a slam already, serena has 9 so i guess 1 for elena wont hurt lol.

btw the crowd is just pathetic, its probably 2/3 full at best.

Elena did it at moscow and at the olympics. So that doesnīt say much. But i want elena to show she wants it bad! I want her to give her fucking all on court and take it to serena. I want her to show she NEEDS this win and goes after it. If not, i wish her a happy trip back to Moscow. I am DONE with excuses, itīs now or never. She either starts taking her chances or stays a sub-topplayer for ever.

im getting ever increasingly annoyed with elena during this match, im trying to support her because i want her to get that elusive slam, but her 2nd serve and constant crosscourt hitting (especialy backhand to backhand with serena) is killing her. just get the 2nd serve into elena, if serena wallops a winner off it thats better than a df.

This is ridiculous. She pounds away at the ball up the middle of the court, and Serena obliges before pulling dementieva wide one way or another, and THIS is when Dementieva decides to try to play the ball close to a line.
