I'd really like to know how many Tier I's top active players won in their career?
My comentator always says that most Tier I's won by active player right now is 9. And these players are Lindsay Davenport, Conchita Martinez & Monica Seles. Is that true?? I'm surprised that this number is so low, but maybe there were less tier I's in the 90's.

Only numbers I know is that:

Justine has 6 Tier I's: Berlin 02,03, Charleston 03, Toronto 03, Zurich 03, Indian Wells 04.
Serena has 6 Tier I's as well: Miami 02, 03; Rome 02, Indian Wells (twice I guess); Canadian Open (please correct me if I'm wrong)
Kim has 2 Tier Is: Indian Wells 03, Rome 03.
Anastasia has 1: Moscow 03.

Please help me with the others. How many Venus, Jennifer, Amelie & others have won?? :D

9 does seem low. I'm sure Serena could win at least 3 or 4 more Tier I's for the rest of her career to beat that record.

martina won tokyo in 2002, so it is 16 for her?
wow i'm amazed how martina had such great success at the tier 1s in such a short career... shows that she could beat the top players, but was a little unlucky at the grand slams :(

Super-Series started out in 1980, initially there was only 2 (Chicago and Las Vegas)
1981 was increased to 5 tourns
1985 it was increased to 11 (eleven Super-Series events)

in 1990 they were renamed Tier 1's with 6 events.

moby, Hingis won 15 tier I titles..
Eggy just wrote the year wrong... it should be 1997-2002.
Hingis's first tier I title was Tokyo 97, and her last (for now) was Tokyo 2002.
She always loved it there.. :hearts:

Wow Serena and Justine...still canīt believe Venus has "only" 5.

I believe it,....it's because when scheduling their tournaments, Venus and Serena let Serena take all the tier I tournaments while Venus plays the tier II's.

Last Tier I won by C.Martinez is 2000, not 1996, when she won Berlin, which she also won in 1998.

Magdalena also won Zurich in 1994 or 1995 im not sure what it was then.

Mary won Rome in 1997, Hilton Head in 2000, and Moscow 1998!

Hopefully these ladies as well as Momo will add some more to there names!!
