She is not all hyped like other teens she played at this tournament, but beat best of them incl. Vadisova and Karatancheva...

To win matches and gain confidence for her transition onto the pro tour

But Karantancheva and Vadisova have beaten people who are in their 20's!

pt is winner gets a WC for next yrs Nasdaq maindraw.

Nicole, Sesil, Alisa and co will get a WC for Nasdaq 2005 without winning here, Neha had to fight tooth and nail, i doubt she would get a WC,

but i'm sure she'll be hovering around 150-200 by next yr.

she should play some challengers better for that...

I think he means that Alisa, Nicole, etc will get Wild Cards regardless, while American (soon to be Indian :p) Neha has to work for them. :)

Well not sure if she is the most talented out there but one thing Neha seems to have going for her is her determination on court.

I'm pretty impressed that she beat back to back to very well-talked about players in Sesil and Nicole and I guess Uberoi can be added to that list of FUTURE STAR.

Yep, Kimmie's got it. I dunno, I just find some of the WC choices out there stupid. To me it seems that the USTA in particular gives these young players an feeling of invisibility if they had success on the Jr. Tour, and then will dump them as soon as they don't live up to their talents. - (*cough cough* Jackie Trail ) Who is Ally Baker?

Who is Sunitha Rao? She beat Hillary Duff, oops, I mean Ashley Harkleroad not so long ago at the Aus Open Q 2nd round. Ya, she got a little blurp on the Open site, but that was about it. I guess I can't say that she deserves a ton of Wildcards - I mean she did okay as a Jr, and has had some success on the challenger circuit. (although slumping a bit now) Look at her WTA profile - pretty much blank. Look at Ally Bakers - cute photo op, and 2 pages...Nothing against Ally here, but she has already been handed like 2 WC's at the Slams, and hasn't done more than Rao. Sunitha is going to have to fight her way up. Just kinda sad for her I guess. I can't wait to hear all about Brendan Evans - we even share names! :p :o

people tend to forget shahar peer, talking about young talented players. shahar won this year australian open for juniors, beating vaidisova easily in the final, and also in a warm-up event to AO.

talking about young talented players, in Denmark we has a 13 year old player, Carolina (+polish name) she will be a future top 50 player, if not better. She can beat 18 year danish players any day.

The 14 year olds beat players in their 20's already, so the age difference is no excuse.

Neha is just as talented, and just because she hasnt had as much success when shes 18 means nothing (sad that we are considering 18 old for tennis :o) Players develop at different rates.
