Kristina will face Jelena Kostanic in the first round, if she advances (which I know she will...I Hope...*knocks on wood*) she will face Meghan Shaughnessy.

Kristina has a great opportunity to make the 4th round if she were to defeat Megan!

Mar 31st, 2004, 11:51 AM
Kristina reached the 3rd round of the Nasdaq-100 where she fell to Dokic. After defeating Meghan Shaughnessy on the 2nd round.

Up next for Kristina, a quick stop in the ITF Tour one more time before opening her clay court season at Charleston for the Family Circle Cup.

For a Latino Player Kristina is more comfortable on grass, but I hope she's able to scrap out many points in preparation for a good draw at the European Tier I's and at Roland Garros.

Kristina reached yet another 3rd round, or maybe it was 2nd. I just got back from my Board Meeting and I'm extremely exhausted & disoriented. *lol*

Yea i'm a big Kristina Brandi fan as well. I volunteered at the Family Circle Cup a couple of weeks ago and got to meet her and her parents after a practice session. I asked her how her foot was and she told me that it was a lot better :) . When watching in action she has a very controlled game which i like and she's very fair to her opponents, rarely questioning calls. I remember watching her match against Claudine Schaul. Claudine would always question line calls and argued with the chair umpire often while kristina seemed to be real relaxed during the whole match. I was soo happy when she won that match, but it was a close one. She had to call the trainer tho for her foot which i'm really concerned about. I think she needs to play fewer tournaments otherwise her foot condition could get worse . I'm not sure how confident she is on clay going into the French Open but I wish her the best of luck. I'm soo amazed by her progress this past year :D.

May 20th, 2004, 06:14 AM
Good luck at the French Open Kristina!!! :D :worship: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Two first round losses in a row, Kristina should have been able to beat Granville a couple days ago.

Heck Yeah!

May 24th, 2004, 11:53 AM
Kristina opens against Virginie tomorrow, I hope she's able to get through. Most likely in the second round it'll be Miss Schiavone...and that might be the end of the road. LAst time I checked Francesca loved low balls to answer.

Allez Kristina!

May 25th, 2004, 01:19 PM
Kristina lost to Razzano in straight sets

I'm going to forget this and think positive thoughts about Kristina in the grass season.:) :) :) :)

May 25th, 2004, 03:07 PM
Wow I thought she could get through this round but obviously red clay isn't her trade mark surface (charleston was green clay). All we can do is wait to see how well she performs on these upcoming grass tournaments which i'm excited about. Keep going Kristina :)

May 25th, 2004, 05:28 PM
Kristina will be defending het ITF points at Surbiton where she is Defending Champs.

After that I think she might try to play 1 more MAIN TOUR Warmp Up before heading into Wimbledon.

This is it people! Now is where Kristina kicks it into gear...from now on the surfaces suit her game...she proved it last year by winning all those ITF titles, let's see of she can defend + gain more points.

May 29th, 2004, 02:07 AM
Kristina has entered 2 WarmUps, GOOD LUCK!

Jun 3rd, 2004, 04:33 PM
Kristina forfeited her QF match against Castellvi at the 25K Surbiton Challenger. I hope it's nothing serious

I twas Kristina's left foot, unfortunately this means:

1) She's injured...AGAIN.
2) Will Drop Big Time In the rankings, she was defending Champ.

Is Brandi playing at Wimbledon..there is a list of player profiles on the wimbledon website and i didn't see her name on the list?

Jun 16th, 2004, 09:35 PM
nevermind, i saw her name on the player profile list..took me a while to find her name...hope she is playing tho :)

Jun 17th, 2004, 02:11 AM
Kristina Brandi is currently nursing her left foot, again.

Planar(sp) Fascitis(sp) similiar to what took Monica Seles OFF TOUR.

I hope Kristina does better this hard court season!

Jun 20th, 2004, 04:19 PM
Kristina is playing at Wimbledon and has Iveta Benesova in the first round.

Good luck Kristina :) :) :) :)

Jun 23rd, 2004, 06:53 AM
Good win for Kristina, taking out Benesova 6-0, 6-2..She now faces Davenport in the 2nd round of Wimbledon and I'm not sure what the outcome of this match will be, since Brandi destroyed her oponent in her first round match..Go Kristina!

Jul 21st, 2004, 11:54 AM
Things have been quiet on the Kristina front.

Where is she? More foot problems perhaps?

Wherever you are Kristina, get well and good luck:) :)

Jul 25th, 2004, 08:50 PM
Kristina should be back in the Hall Of Fame tournament...is it Newport...or something like that.

She has not played since her loss to Lindsay, so best of luck to Kristina!

Jul 27th, 2004, 12:01 AM
Kristina is back in action and beat Morigami today in San Diego.

Aug 3rd, 2004, 07:34 PM
Kristina is now out of the Top 50, ranked at 51st. *sad*

However, she should be able to climb back and finish the season inside the Top 50.

Her points next year will be evenly spread, I only hope she is able to nurse her foot back to 100% over the off season so that she can maybe go for a title in Canberra, Auckland or a small Aussie Opener.

Aug 4th, 2004, 01:47 AM
Kristina will be ok..since she hasn't been playing a ton of matches like last year i think her foot is doing a lot better to say the least..she will be back in the top 50 soon and will hopefully stay in there for good

Aug 6th, 2004, 12:29 AM
I see no problem with her stayin in the Top 50 over the Off season as long as she has 2 STRONG finishes before the season is over.

She will have a lot to defend leading up to the Aussie, but next year CLAY and GRASS should be where she gains the most.

Aug 11th, 2004, 02:26 AM
Is Brandi playing in the olympics? I think she is but i'm sure

Aug 12th, 2004, 07:21 PM
Brandi will face Jelena Kostanic. I dont know much about Jelena, but I believe this is a very winnable match.

Then on the second round, Kristina would face the winner of the Serna/Myskina match.

Kristina's run at the Olympics came at the end of a hard fought 3 setter against Third Seeded Anastasia Myskina in the Second Round.
