It's the biggest tournament outside the major and the YEC!

there is no mixed doubles since for men it's only one week, and all seeds get byes, so it's far from being a slam even though it's prizemoney is the highest amongst all events even YEC, but if winning this is good enough, then Martina Hingis wouldnt be under so much heat after winning both Miami and YEC in 2000 which gave her #1 year end ranking.

it's two weeks for both men and women, but there isn't any mixed doubles

i think it is like a slam because all of the top players are there and a seed still has to win 6 matches to win the title which is more than in most other tournaments

Seems like this year not all top players will be here ;)

The Nasdaq Open is a Tier 1 Tournament which means that it is the next highest level below the grand slams. So there are more people in the draw. And it doesnt matter if all of the top players are goin to be there, Serena, Daniela, and Jelena will be. Serena is goin to win this tournament and Daniela and Jelena will get far.
