She's making her comeback here, then playing Amelia Island and possibly Charleston! :yippee: :D
Seems like the first time in months I haven't had to write Get Well Soon Amélie! :bounce:
It'll be so great to have her playing again. :tennis: :yippee: :tennis: :yippee:
It would be wonderful and fantabulous if she won, but I really want her to just stay healthy. No intercostal tears, no cartilage inflammation, no ankle sprains, no colds, no adductor strains, no stiff necks, no tripping in the locker room and smacking head on the wall, no rabies...
Play Your Best Amélie!

If we go by her L'Equipe interview (2 weeks ago  ) it sounded like she'd be ready to play here. Since we haven't heard anything since, let's assume that no news is good news :)

Tennis isn't important when something like this happens. I just hope she'll find comfort, strength, and peace with her family during this troubling time.

Momosapiens, don't give up hope just yet - there's a chance she may play doubles here
A big MERCI to Loulou (and Socrate):worship: for posting this on the official site:
Today on the french board, Socrate has posted a little article from the french sport newspaper L'Equipe about Amélie :
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Officially, Amélie Mauresmo has withdrawn from Miami due to her back injury. But she was really shattered by the death of her father, deceased of a cancer twelve days ago at 56 years old.
The french No 1 is not in the state to normally defend her chances and we could understand it. Amélie has not touched a racket since nearly two weeks, her spirit is elsewhere. So it’s better not to play. So maybe we could see her in Miami these days to recover gradually in the environment from the circuit and competition. It’s possible that Amélie could play the double. But she will probably be back in two weeks at Amelia Island, on clay."

Thanks for the article Linnie but I don't see it happening. She'd be much better off practicing on the clay when she feels ready to return to the sport.

It might be good for her to kind of ease back into competition by playing doubles (again, assuming she's ready to play). There'd be no pressure, and, the few times I've seen her playing doubles, she's had a good time.
In any case, we'll see when the doubles draw comes out :)
