Bepa will bounce back in doubles, so Nastya has nothing to worry about :)

In fact, her doubles results are often better when she has a bad loss in singles :o
i agree, that's the postive side of her dreadful losses :p Too bad, it's only her 2nd tournament in double this year.I am sure she would have won a tournament this year, if she had played more.

Bepa would have to be hospitalised before even considering letting her partner down, unlike some other players
Exactly, Bepa is very loyal and i have the impression that she tries to play at 200% in doubles, she wants to win for her and also for her double partner. When she is not feeling good, she tries to forget it because she doesn't want her partner to lose because of her.I like this kind of behaviour :yeah: and i'm very happy Nastya and Bepa won yesterday.
A good double tournament would cheer her up a little :p Go Nastya and bepa!!!

About single, it's really awful.          Except Memphis, Bepa lost against lower player than her in every tourney:sad: Right now, she doesn't deserve a place in top 20 :bigcry:but that's life and in everybody's carreer there have been a slump. Now it's Bepa turn and i really hope it will be over very soon. Bepa must forget this loss, start anew this season and practise, practise, practise and practise before starting clay season:) I think Bepa is definitly an excellent clay player, she can beat anyone on clay if she is really motived so i'm hopefull.

It's now 8:25am, and I've had enough of stressing over a scoreboard on the computer

  you stayed that long yesterday  i were right to vote for you in "most dedicated fan" last year:yeah: :woohoo: you're definitly the biggest Bepa fan in the whole word! :)

About GM messages, people will always be there to criticize players :( and laugh at their awful losses:bigcry: :bigcry:. When Bepa does something good, there are not as many persons to clap her as there is people who criticize her when she loses. So unfair :sobbing: Fortunatly, Bepa will never read some hard messages.

I was also a cry-baby on court when I was young ;)

When winning first set 6-4 I had a complete meltdown and was down 6-4 0-6 2-5. I cried a lot during the third set, but I won the match after saving one match point 7-6 in the deciding tie-breaker :D

So crying on court actually helps (;)), but I dont cry any more

Yes I think We should poke a bit of fun at Our favourite Player, not like certain fans Who give it to everyone elses Favs. and squeal like a stuck pig when anyone says a word about Theirs, even Bepa is quoted as saying She dislikes People without a sense of humour! but it is right She does seem to have a big target on Her in GM :fiery:

I saw this match live as I was in Miami. Bepa looked to be in control after the 1st set and then all the sudden NLV starts to play so much better and Bepa seemed to be in shock. NLV was hitting winners like mad. Bepa got an unsportsman-like conduct warning for smashing a ball into the air. She also got a coaching violation because someone in the crowd was telling her what to do. I'm not sure if she knew him, but it wasn't her coach. The violation ended up helping Vera lose a game. Bepa went up to the guy who told her what to do and it sounded like she yelled "F*** YOU!!" to him. IMO, Bepa didn't lose this match.. NLV won it with great tennis.

I dont really think you can blame one person for her losing the game, if shes professional enough, she should have been able to shut out comments from the crowd!! I doubt she would have said F YOU to him either, im sure thats quite a severe offense in the tennis world if a player does that to a spectator!!

I asked the poster Kutuzova who went to the tournament on Thursday about the practice session between Bepa and Daniela

Bepa and Daniela practised together? :hearts: :hearts:

Still waiting for their first-ever singles match...

Zvonareva would take advantage sometimes just because she has more pace off the ground.

Powerful you have become, Bepa. The Dark Side I sense in you. ;)

She also got a coaching violation because someone in the crowd was telling her what to do. I'm not sure if she knew him, but it wasn't her coach. The violation ended up helping Vera lose a game.

I've always thought that the anti-coaching rule could be abused in this way, but this is the first time I've actually heard about such an occurrence. How is the umpire supposed to know whether Bepa planted a secret coach in the crowd, or if it was actually someone trying to get Bepa into trouble and cause her to lose?

How much simpler it would be if they just allowed the players to bring their coaches onto court with them like in Fed/Davis Cup. It would put an end to the covert coaching that goes on all the time, and we might see a higher standard of tennis, too. Not very fair on the players who don't have coaches, though.

I have mixed feelings about allowing coaching.

I'm just worried that it would negate the skill of being able to formulate a new gameplan if the original one is failing.

Bepa is good at doing this, and I think it gives her an edge over players who just play one way for the whole match.

pav
Mar 27th, 2005, 07:23 PM
Problem with Bepa formulating a new gameplan is She sometimes chooses gameplan Z which consists of the following in any order -- racquet smashing, self abuse, foot whacking, eyerolling and a bit of moisturising thrown in for good measure, and She is now trialing a new addition, spectator swearing! but seriously She it is one of the things to admire about Her is Her ability to change Her way of playing during a match :)

Zvonareva among the stars

Last year semifinalist of J&S Cup will take part in 2005 edition too. The Russian player Vera Zvonareva signed in after the deadline, but as a Golden Exempt list player she was the first alternate in case of other player's withdrawal. Jelena Jankovic of Serbia and Montenegro decided to withdraw from the tournament without the medical reasons right before the deadline (midnight 21st March). Jankovic - a player, ranked 20th WTA, was replaced by Zvonareva, ranked 11th. It means that another star was added to 2005 J&S Cup cast!Ola, if you need money to bribe your mother into letting you go, just ask me ;)

The clay means longer points. It's easier than hardcourts in some ways, and more grueling in other ways.
These U.S. tournaments, from Miami on, are near each other. No long flights with jet lag.
That's a positive. Vera and Anastasia, and Vera D., all skipped IW. That should be a positive this spring.

If Vera doesn't win matches, there are no positives from skipping IW.
If she starts to win, she should have fresh legs, and be mentally fresh.
Anastasia and Lena won very little before RG.
Fresh legs on clay is a good thing. But it only matters if you're winning matches.

Bepa says that Anna is her toughest opponent because she doesn't know how to play her. However, she did beat Anna in three last year at Charleston, so maybe it isn't a big deal :)

indeed i remember the matchs at Linz and at New Haven in 2003, it was a great fight on every points especially in 3rd sets. There was also some big rallyes  and of course a huge suspense:)

About Shuai,i have never seen her play on clay  and exept Sydney and Oz Open where she was impressive, she lost very early.I doubt she will win against Meghann.

I saw Peng play Nadia in Sydney.

Nadia was way off in that match, so I'm not sure if we can read much into it, although Peng did play well.

However, I don't know how her game will translate to clay, while I know that Bepa is one of the top claycourt players on the tour.

Bepa should be wary, but there is no reason to be worried :)

Of course Miami was terrible, but she has to move on from that. There is a chance that she was sick, so I'm not going to be all

Probably because Vera lost to Vives. The other players selected have also lost to lower-ranked players in the past, and that hasn't affected their selection for Fed Cup ties around that time.

Bepa lost three straight YEC matches, and was also dead tired at the end of last season, yet Tarpischev not only selected Bepa in the team, but also played her in the deciding rubber.

He knows that she performs when she is playing Fed Cup for Russia.

Well that team is certainly a back-up team so maybe they think they dont need bepa to win the tie, there probably actually doing her a favour cause she will get to have a little break while the fed cup ties are played, they might have actually picked that team with that in mind, to just give some of the more established players abit of a break!! I agree 100% with pav; razzano is really in an incredible shape, beating 2 players who belong to top 10 in one week is really  :worship: I remember she was number 1 in juniors and won Oz Open and RG, maybe she 'll rise in pro this year :) and then we won't consider that match as a bad performance of Bepa.( Last year, when Bepa lost to Kuzzie at Gold Coast me thought she played an awful match but then Kuzzie rose and rose and actually this Bepa 's loss wasn't that bad considering the talent of her opponent) Btw, a QF is a lil improvement all the same. We should let Bepa finiding her best form step by step :)
Good luck in Charleston, Bepa!! Davai there!!! :) :) :rocker: :rocker:

There is always one annoying sheep like that, all the others go through the gate and one will duck off to the side at the last second, this causes all hell to break lose with about ten dogs chasing the pain in the butt with dust, yelling, bits of wool flying out, when it would have been far easier just to go through the damn gate. (1)Davenport v. BYE
Craybas v. Q
Q v. Q
(16)Zuluaga v. Q

(10)Jankovic v. Henin-Hardenne
Peng v. Irvin
Benesova v. Q
(6) Zvonareva v. BYE

Chladkova v. Camerin
Raymond v. Razzano
Frazier v. (13)Golovin

(12)Farina Elia v. Kostanic
Strycova v. Maritnez
Morigami v. Garbin
(7) Petrova v. BYE

It's just Bepa's luck to draw Jankovic and Henin-Hardenne in her section :o

Still, I think she she can beat them and achieve a very good result if she cuts down on the unforced errors and steps up on big points.
