I hope Elke takes note of it. After she gets Her sis' quality points...she just may be able to make it directly into the main draw of this event.

It's been brought up before but I dunno if it's ever been resolved, so here's a bump ;)

oh and Forest Hills is the site where the US Open used to be played.

Total mystery. :o Strange timing to have a Tier V tournement in New York, as it's at the same time as the U.S. Open qualies.

wow! now that makes even less sense.

wow! now that makes even less sense.

Maybe they're hoping to attract the players who didn't/couldn't play in the Olympics and want a warm-up for the US Open. It is a bit strange.
Does "WTH" mean "what" or "where" the hell? In any case, that gives away the age of the person who wrote it:
Forest Hills is where the Open used to be held before Flushing Meadow (till 1977)

They used to have The Mazda Tennis Classic in Mahwah, New Jersey, just before the US Open way back in 1991-92 or so. It was a 16-player draw but was more of an exhibition event. Jennifer Capriati and Monica Seles were the headliners during those years.
