What player in the top 100 could you see losing a 10K event?

Alina Jidkova: she is pretty bad.

It's really hard to say. Many players ranked below 60 who are having an off day could lose in a 10K. There's really no telling until they play one.

Maria Elena Camerin is really good. Alina Jidkova wouldn't lose either. Nither would Jill Craybas.

It depends on who is in the tournament. If there is a great junior player, like Shahar Peer, Nicole Vaidisova, etc, then there is a chance that one of them could lose.

With that being said, Alexandra has a great chance to lose. ;)

It depends on the surface I think. Jill Craybas might indoors, but even then it's slim to none. Amy Frazier could do it on a clay court, seeing as she only got one game off Christina Wheeler on clay last year. Ditto w/Stevenson on a clay court.

I guess Seles right now seeing as she can barely walk, but obviously that doesn't count...maybe someone like Christina Torrens Valero on a grass court?

Conchita Martínez-Granados in grass or indoors. (she's almost top 100 so she counts :p)

They could all lose in a 10K, even the top players, because they wouldn't be motivated.

Anyone outside the top 10, there are a lot of talented young players in the 10k events, don't underestimate the level of those tournaments !

Was Anna Kournikova still in the top 100 when she lost to Bruna Colosio last year at a Satellite event? Or was that even a 10k event?

Well, I think several former top 100 players like Anne Kremer just last month and Martina Mueller in a few events last year and lost in 10-k events. And Kristine Brandi, who is back in the top 100, also lost in some Satellite events when she was back on the rise.

So nobody is I guess immune to losing to anybody on a given day.

Patty Schnyder, Then again she would loose purposely on the prospect that she is playing a 10k event ;) :) (Hopefully Anna K wasn't in her draw either)

Didn't Melinda Czink loose to Kyra Nagy last year in 10K final in Mexico??

Ya. Camerin takes alot of shit from people because of their ignorance. Most people have just never heard of her, so they assume she's bad. Well her ranking is in the 80's now, and she looks ready to make her move. She can have an explosive temper on court, but she has a nice game. I can see her top 50 or even top 30 at some point.

Don't think she was in the top 100 yet. Plus Kyra is another decent player from Hungary like Melinda who is just waiting for that one big breakthrough.

VERY well said ;)

I saw Camerin play, and i must say shes is really something (not saying that just cause shes italian :p) alot of people will probably laf in my face cuz they saw her get double bagelled by kim, but that was on the center court of on of her first grand slams, and even so, she brought kim to deuce in so many games, she just had to play the important points better.

I think below the Top 50 if the player is having a bad day anything is possible.

I would put money on it that if Alexandra Stevson entered such an event she'd lose. Is there a qualifying section for such an event or would she have to ask for a wild card?:tape:

I dont think Stevenson would definitely lose, she played well this week and had a tight match and almost won against Farina, who's a good top 20 player.

With a good coach and a commitment to the gym, Stevenson would probably be in the top 10. She needs to leave her big mouth mother back at the trailor park and start training. Stevenson is not bad but she makes bad decisions in matches and that's why she's always on the losing end. Yea, Farina is an okay player but come on, with Stevenson serve and return game, she should be able to blast Farina off any court except Clay.

I was watching Stevenson play quallies on the gold coast and her mum was sitting behind me. And Stevenson's serve went really off during the match and her mother was like ugh she has to change her racket she has to change her racket:rolleyes: I've told her so many times, she was making out that was the only problem. Do note she didn't change it and it did improve.

Ya the mother is a wingnut. Changing the coach will change the game and the results.

I think Czink lost that final on purpose to give Nagy more points. ;)
