There are 3 main draw wild cards and 4 qualifying wild cards.

The first main draw wild card was given to Jessica Fernandez, which is still doubtfull to play due to some injury she had since beggining of the year and some problems with federation.

The second main draw wild card is going to be given by Octagon, they are going to decide to who give it.

The third main draw wild card is for a gold/silver exempt player, which is never used ;)

The qualifying wild cards are all for Mexicans, one is given already to Maria-Jose Lopez, the other 3 will go by rank order, and for who doesn't enter directly.

Hope Jessica gets to play in Acapulco for first time :D she didn't withdrew from Columbus so she might be fit now :D

Domachowska is not a wc, is a play-in ;)
Marta's wc is the octagon wc I suppose.
So yes I doubt Gala will get one.

Seems Maria-Jose Lopez doesnt have intentions coming to Mexico as she has commited to lot of challengers in Europe for February and March

If that happens, Erika Clarke would secure place on qualies for 4th str8 year :hearts: go Erika :hearts:

if Paola plays Bogota, then there is a possibility she will be here, it was too long a break, and Virginia does need to get some points in singles avoiding to become doubles specialist at high tiers

Paola didnt played here cos organizers didnt offered her any extra $$$ like previous years.

As there was no $$$ for her she didn't signed in to play, and if she doesnt play, Virginia doesn't play.

appearance fee? i thought Paola played coz she went there by herself, didnt know she was popular in Mexico enough to get that, anyways, i guess it's more expensive this year to get her back.

It's hard to attract top players to Mexico, especially to clay events when Indian Wells is coming. It doesn't really have to do with popularity... people want to see top players... Paola is one.
