On vient d'apprendre le forfait de la Slovaque Daniela Hantuchova. Elle devait affronter la Française Tatiana Golovin ce soir. Elle semble souffrir de problèmes respiratoires.

- from paris scoreboard.

She was coughing and was ill in R1, get better :bigcry: :(

Wow last week it was venus withdrawing from chanda who withdrew. Now Testud retires to daniela who has gone on to withdraw. At this rate whoever will be left standing will literally be the winner.

well, to look on the bright side, something like this is a lot better than an injury.

Was Sandrine ill too?

At least it's just illness and not an injury. She'll snap back from it.

AWwwww, man. At least she had the brains to withdraw instead of playing herself into pneumonia. Take a rest and get better Dani! You're getting there :)

Oh, definitely. Moron.

She'll be better in a few days and I'm sure she'll play Antwerp which is what's important right now.

I've just got back from 5 days at GDF. There was no sign of Daniela on Monday, on Tuesday she was coughing and spluttering during her doubles match with Eleni Daniilidou (which they lost). On Wednesday morning I saw her practicing with Silvia Farina-Elia and she seemed fine, maybe the odd cough here and there, but then during her match with Sandrine Testud on Wednesday evening, more coughing. You could tell she wasn't firing on all cylinders, and as it was, Sandrine retired with what looked like an abdominal pain while Dani was leading 5-3. Who knows what would have happened if Sandrine wasn't hurt, because Dani didn't look well either. I then spent 6 hours waiting for her game against Golovin on Thursday only to hear the dreadful news that Dani forfeited the game because she was sick:sad:   Malheureusement:sad:   I guess I was lucky to see her at all, because she said she was ill after arriving from Tokyo, so I'm happy that I at least got to see her three times.

Get well soon Daniela
